Reports suggest Barca will pay about £35m plus 28-year-old Eto'o in return for Ibrahimovic, 27

Inter pulling off one hell of a deal if that goes through!

Edit: Forget this bit too,

In addition, Alex Hleb will spend a season on loan at the Italian club

Ibrhamovic gets slagged to death, but if he can replicate his scoring record at Barca it's a good deal, almost a goal a game he's got for Inter.

Looks like Barca were desperate to get some value for Eto'o, but they haven't got much have they ?

I see where youre comming from. He is talented, scored some wonder goals, but hasnt really done it in the big games. Also at present, Serie A is no way as strong a league as Spain or England.

35M and Eto'o for a soon to be 28 year old. That's a lot of money.

I think Ibra is a good player and have always said as much when the topic has come on here, but I don't really get it. I'm guessing that the reported interest in Adebayor last summer and now Ibra suggests that Guardiola wants more of a physical presence up front.

Does he have the sort of work ethic and team oriented defend from the front mentality that Guardiola is supposed to insist upon? I would say no.

Will be interesting.

Inter will make like bandits if they pull that one off.

Are Laporta's trousers around his ankles because he is about to get buggar'd

They were after Carvahllo but that fell through for some reason. Jose can have Dossena for 5- 8 million is he wants.

Roberto Rossetti

Did Inter buy Milito this summer or was it in Jan? Can't remember.

Juve are buying big this summer with the purchases of Diego and Melo so far. Another attacker or two and they could challenge next season.

Has Eto'o not got a similar record with Barca?

Maybe people will finally see what a fantastic striker he is, when he turns on his magic for Barca.
The deal is insane though, even if Ibra has 4 years left on his contract and Eto'o 1.

So Inter have bought Thiago Motta, Milito, Lucio, Eto'o and Hleb on loan. Someone wants to win the CL..

the guy is world class and he will be outstanding in Barca, but so is Eto a world clas striker - I think inter have come out better in this deal, Zlatan is better than Eto but not by that much.

Eto'o is better than Ibrahimovic.

eto'o is a world class striker but so is zlatan and he offers more than Eto'o in the sense that not only can he shit goals he can create them out of nothing for others and develop play - this is an area of eto's game which is not at the same level as zlatan's.

Ibrahimovic is one of the most overrated players in history. He's good, a good technical player, but he's not world class. Nor is he a great goalscorer or big game player. Eto'o is certainly better than him.

we've had this discussion before - it seems that guardiola, mourinho, and lippi all see something in him that you don't?

Zlatan is like Collymore. An enigma. On his day against average oppo, both were unplayable. But when the going got tough etc. I'd have Eto'o over Zlatan every time.

absoute crap - collymore wan an enigma becuase he had all the talent but, for whatever reason, failed to translate that into the success is warranted. Zlatan has the talent and has translated that into a very impressive CV - both in terms of goals scored, trophies won, clubs played for.

I think he's talented, RM, just not as good as people make out. I'd put him on a par with, say, someone like berbatov. Good, but not world class. I haven't seen as much as him as you have, i'm sure. But when i have seen him over the last 6, 7 years he has been muck. And that's been mostly against good sides. That's why i'll never consider him great. Inter have got an amazing deal here if true.
