Klose isn't killing it at Munich, Podolski is playing at Cologne and hasn't been good since the last time he played for them.

Ballack is old, Hitzlsperger wasn't good enough for Villa. Who play on their right wing? Schweinsteiger is their best player and he's solid but not outstanding.

England would beat them by more than 3 goals if they met.

Klose has never really been prolific at club level ... but he always does the business for Germany ... I will add he has had some injuries of late.

Podolski isn't firing that's true.... but plenty of time for him to find some form, and lets remember he is not exactly surrounded by top players at Cologne.

But look at the players who are firing ....

Toni Kroos (top talent)
Mesut Ozil is really maturing at an attacking midfielder
Stefan Kiessling is in amazing form for Leverkusen

Ozil is a forward, a very good one at that.

Kiessiling won't start ahead of Klose/Gomez/Podolski.

He would struggle to start ahead of Ribery, as Ribery is a class act ... and plus they signed Danijel Pranji? to play on the left side.

Munich might just be loaning him out so he can get accustomed to starting and playing as much as he can, so once Ribery is gone ... he might be given the chance to prove himself at Munich.

The thing about watching youtube videos and reading football zines to help form an informed opinion is Roopy, it doesn't tell you enough information.

Pranjic, when selected, has been playing as a left back for them. They bought another young attacking midfielder as a cover in Baumjohann.

A great talent Toni Kroos might be, he won't be the difference between Germany doing well or badly.

Mate I don't get my footballing knowledge from youtube.com or football zines.... I said they signed Pranjic to play on the "LEFT SIDE" ... by that I meant left-back/left-wing (either of those positions)... he can play either position.

I watch Bundesliga quite a bit ... I still think Toni Kroos is a good talent, and the more he plays with Leverkusen the more he will improve and we will see what he is made of.... I'm not saying he is the footballing Messiah for Germany, but he is doing a decent job at Leverkusen.

If I was to pick one player who has really impressed me from Leverkusen its the young Chilean - Arturo Vidal.

I've followed him since the U20 tournament in Canada (2007) where is was a gun for Chile... until they got creamed by the Argies 3-0 in the semi-final..... his mentality and heart-on-sleeve passion is great to see.

It's always the same with Germany, isn't it? People write them off too easily.

They may not have the individual class of other national teams. But I don't know any other side that has the ability to gel as fast as the Germans do in major tournaments. Their team's sum is always more than their individual parts.

Be assured, whoever plays for Germany at the World Cup will give his best and will not give up till the match is over. If he's firing or not at the moment is irrelevant.
