Hazard in - Babel out.
One down, three to go (or thereabouts).
If that IS what happens, we'll be ecstatic ... We'll more than likely swap Babel with Simon Davies.

I don't want to sell Lucas just as he's getting good.. Babel can fuck off.
dont be daft!! Sell him now! he's generally not good enough and now he's playing ok it may actually get the fee for him we should be looking to get!

I'm a bit torn on this issue.

One one side I don't think he'll ever be a top-player for us but on the other hand I'm not sure we'd get enough money for him anyways to justify the sale. He has played some of his best games for Liverpool ever this Season - and although that doesn't tell us much - there's at least hope he's improving.

For all of Rafa's prompt moving on of players whose move to Anfield didn't work out well enough, Babel has been lucky to have 'survived' till now. Or is it a case of his own decision that'd seen him stay?

LTW's point about squad size is true but he's becoming a bit like Jovanovic in recent wks hasnt he? A bit "non-existent", just making up numbers - at least in the way Roy is handling them.

Babel refused to go to Brum when they made an offer of 9 million, I think.
Yeah, as did N'Zogbia apparently.

Not sure how true those rumours about his rejection of Spurs and West Ham on transfer dateline day was too. Not that I'm blaming him for that cos we might've got Carlton Cole in return! 😛

i thought he was all set for a move but we called it off because we didn't have time to sign a striker.

Various versions I think. One was him rejecting player-exchange deal with West Ham. Another was Spurs buying him and us subsequently use the money to land Cole. Third version had it as us readying his sale should a striker be signed.

So babel is being linked with Juve ... I hope we have replacements lined up for him, and Lucas (though Poulsen should go first), as we cannot afford to be selling players without replacing them. The squad is thin enough as is.

Why do we need a replacement lined up. He rarely plays....and when he does....its as if he's not playing. He's like a ghost!

See yer, it's not like he's getting a look in anyway, and when he does he offers nothing so he may aswell go and we may aswell take the money and get someone else.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has sent a transfer message to Liverpool wing wizard Ryan Babel.

The England international made a jovial suggestion to the flying Dutchman using his Twitter account, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the Liverpool starlet.

"What's happening babel!!? When you gonna come to Arsenal haha," said Wilshere on the social media platform.

The Gunners have been linked with Babel in the past, with Wenger believing he can get the best out of the player at the Emirates stadium.

Babel has consistently struggled to hold down a starting place at Anfield, with both Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson using the Liverpool player in a bit-part role.

Arsenal are challenging for trophies on a number of fronts this season, and Wenger has bumper profits to play with should he wish to make a move for the player.

However, the Arsenal boss has insisted that he doesn't need to spend money in January, and could wait until the summer should he wish to make a move for the Anfield speedster.

Liverpool boss Hodgson is thought to be in the market for attacking options during the January transfer window, and could look to cash in on Babel in a bid to fund moves for an attacking foil for Fernando Torres.

Arsenal would have to pay a fee in the region of £8 million for the Liverpool player, although it remains uncertain that Liverpool would sell to a Premier League rival.

It's worth noting that Babel tweeted back to Wilshire "when are you coming to Liverpool?"

Considering our striking options and how little we use Babel that wouldn't have been a bad deal - so long as it was fairly even cash wise..
