I don't get it , why all the kudos for Babel, what did he actually achieve in his time here?

I wish him luck, but I can't say I am sorry to see him go

regards

can someone tweet lucas the merits of learning the german language with the advantage of being close to his good friend Ryan Babel .

Hoffenheim have now offered £7m, rising to £8m on performances and a deal worth £70,000 a week for the 24-year-old.

Not sure how true this is. Why do they have to offer an increased amount when the previous, lower amount was accepted by the club - (and apparently) only for the player to reject the offer?

does it not seem like babel has been told he's not going to get any game time or we're about to sign someone that will push him out of the picture altogether

thats why he's now ready to move on?

Or maybe he's got no chance of going to Ajax.... ?

According to the BBC late TV news, the Hoffenheim deal is back on and Babel is flying out there tomorrow (Tuesday).

We need to get rid of shite like Babel if we're going to go anywhere.

Positive move for the club.

I doubt many disagree with that, old chum. It isn't kudos for Babel the player. It's a recognition that he himself isn't a bad lad, even if an unreformable featherhead.

I hope he does go, he needs to play and i wish him luck, i get the impression he was just not dedicated enough for the premier league. I will retain some respect for him if he does go, if he stays however then he is just in it for the cash and well.... fuck him.

He was one of those weirdly likeable players just for no other reason then he seemed to have a personality, which is in itself a rarity in the era of carefully managed media savy footballers. He wont be greatly missed but I have to assume this means there is a wide player coming in as we are paper thin on the flanks and letting another wide player go with no replacement would be mental

Have we sold this useless bag of balls yet?

hopefully the useless bag of bags that is lucas will follow hot on his heels.

Good luck Babel.

Almost always believed he'd some day come really good but apart from a handful of games and important goals he never really fullfilled what I thought was his real potential.

Hope he scores shitloads in Germany and becomes a success.

Rap on.

But only if he has a sell-on clause

Skysports.com understands Ryan Babel has sealed his switch to Hoffenheim from Liverpool.

The Reds confirmed on Monday that Babel was set for talks with the Bundesliga side after a deal was reached for the Dutchman.

Babel is believed to have signed a two-and-a-half -ear deal at Hoffenheim after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

The move ends Babel's four years at Liverpool after he joined the club in the summer of 2007 from Ajax for a fee of £11.5million.

The 24-year-old failed to live up to expectations at Anfield and never established himself as a regular in the first-team.

Liverpool have decided to cash-in on the versatile forward as they look to raise funds for their own signings in this month's transfer window.

The Holland international will help replace Demba Ba at the German club following his move to West Ham.

I have heard this before.

* Babel flying out to sign a deal with some club
* I put the champagne on ice
* Babel comes back empty handed
* I try to convince myself he can develop into a useful player and contribute our squad

If he doesn't sign this time, i'm hiring a sniper.....somebody please warn him on twitter.
