All need to go.

Who came up with the TC as a solution to Rodgers wanting no DOF
It was doomed to failure. I suspect it was Ayres Rodgers wont go yet, But Ayres should he's the slippery sod on the step to the sewer.

To be fair, he has a point. I don't think we're gonna see any consistent success until we get someone in who knows their football. A top notch DOF who can go and spot some talent on the cheap over a consistent number of years would do us the world of good.

Managers are easy for us to name in terms of our favourites. I'm sure any of use could rattle off 5 or 6 names we'd want to see as Liverpool manager. But what of the DOF? Anyone got someone in mind who would be great for us AND willing to come do the job?

Dalglish and Houllier are outside shots who would be great for sentimental reasons, but we need someone who has great player knowledge and who can set up systems from top to bottom. Most importantly, someone who spends well. Not suggesting Kenny of Houllier can't, but I'm sure there are better options out there.

Rodgers was name-dropping Ayre the other day as someone who he respects, has a strong relationship with, supported blah blah blah. It seems like Ayre played a big part in saving him over the summer. Given the way organisations work, that means when Rodgers goes, Ayre will have to follow right behind him. That day will be a glorious day. And it is coming. For I have seen it.

You're aiming too high. At this point we don't need to worry about how good they are or how much success they will bring. They just need to not totally fuck up and piss away millions upon millions for retarded reasons. I would go for John Barnes. He was a shit manager, but as a director he won't have to do anything, just speak. When he speaks, he's usually always right. I can't see him fucking it up.

It's difficult to know who they are and how much responsibility but I'd start by looking at the following:

The English options:
Dan Ashworth
Paul Mitchell ( I wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Baldini at Spurs)

After that I'd go looking at all the candidates working in the Bundesliga, as well as PSV and Ajax, Villareal etc

I'm not Ayre's biggest fan but I doubt this was down to him TBH. My bet is FSG themselves came up with the idea in an attempt to sidestep Rodgers' objection to working under a DOF, without completely abandoning the idea of some kind of direct football-related input into the manager's choices.

I didn't bother opening this thread until now because I assumed it was more poetry.
😵🙄

Can you remember what day it was? +/- 3 will do.

I thought and saw exactly this. So wanted to see who was of like mind. Then I took it a stage further. He was taken on to advise on football matters . He would have Known the idea would be a toilet full of land mines. But saw a chance to create his own mini fiefdom. I bet he made a tiny squeak of protest to cover his arse. Then bowed to their greater wisdom. He reminds me horribly of Parry. He must go

Even a genius of a manager. will fail if forced to sit on a throne of quivering squinting turds.
