That's true, but he was never going to be a big enough personality to cope with the dressing-room clique at Chavski long-term. He's a better fit for a club like Portsmouth, with much smaller resources and ambitions, and they've just proved how far a good team spirit can take you.

I think most people would settle for Russell Grant at this stage, nevermind Avram Grant.

he could predict the score and if its a loss he could not bother sending the team out but that would make it a self fulfilling prophecy 😉
Brendan is right that I'd rather not have this man as our next manager, however, his achievement with Pompey (and even Chelsea, considering the circumstances) is indeed worthy of a 'well done'.

he did well at Chelsea. A goalpost away from CL winners and two points away from league winners. He also did what Jose couldn't do, beat us in the CL

I said this a couple weeks ago and was mostly disagreed with. I thought that while he wasn't a long-term solution at Chelsea he had done well enough to start the next season. Looks even better in hindsight seeing how Scolari worked out.

(And no, I don't want Grant here.)

That photo is from the day Chelsea won the title under him.

What a great day that was for Chelsea fans everywhere, who had forgotten that they've won the title once more than they had previously thought.
Deserves a lot of credit for how he has handled an extremely difficult situation and he did a good job at Chelsea all things considered. Rebel is right in that he will have a better club soon.

apart from the fact he finished 2 points off the title in his first season and the face that he got to the champions league final and lost thanks to a post?
personaly i think he has his teams playing pretty well, so he wouldnt be that bad of a shout.
im not saying i wish we get him, but we could do so much worse than him!!
