Attacking midfielders

The average age of a squad in the PL is 27.4 yrs old. Man City's is 28.3, Chelsea's 26.6. Ours is 25.7 (second youngest to Spurs), Arsenal and United both over 27.

Obviously buying players around that age (or younger by a year or two) will help maintain a squad age (as obviously all are aging) whilst buying 18-22 year olds will give us less experience and fewer leaders on the pitch.

Interestingly I think it was Juventus who put out a team in the CL with an average age of 31 in one of their matches this year (quarter-final I think).

The average age of the squad is one thing but if you look at the players that have started the most games for the latest title winners its a bit higher.
Chelsea have started nearly the same core of players all season, average age of 27,5. Thats without Fabregas (31) and Willan (28).

Leicester last season 28,3.

If we are to improve next season and challenge for the League we'll obviously have to buy both some established players that can make an impact at once, and some younger players we can develop with a more long term view.

And of all the teams you've mentioned only one is going to win the Premier League. The one with the average age of 26.

The second place team in the league is also the youngest one.

So your original point was based on an incorrect assumption and the above post doesn't assist your argument based on that assumption.
One 'slight' outlier season lowers the overall average by hardly an iota. I've posted this research on 6CM before, I'm not arsed to go find it again on here but you can be my guest. The average age of a PL winning team is 27-28 yrs old. And 26.6 isn't 26, it's closer to 27 *cough*.

Hansen's post right above this goes right to the core and proves the point I'm making. Young teams/squads rarely win titles.
