So far, these 6 AMs/wingers have been somewhat credibly linked with LFC this summer:

Douglas Costa, 26 (Bayern)
Lucas Moura, 24 (PSG)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 23 (Arsenal)
Max Meyer, 21 (Schalke)
Julian Brandt, 20 (Bayer)
Christian Pulisic, 18 (Dortmund)

Who would you prefer and why? Do you think we should go for younger players (18-21) or ones in their prime (24+)? And which other AMs do you think LFC should consider?

In terms of other quick AMs/wingers we should consider, one of my favorite is the one that got away, Mohamed Salah. I really like his style of play, the fact that he is two-footed and can play anywhere across the front 3 and his stats are better than either Douglas or Lucas – 33 goals in 79 games in Serie A (that's 43% or 3 goals in every 7 games). The only problem is that he plays for Egypt – I really don't like the idea of losing both of our "wings" for a month every other year...

Purely on the style of play among the 6 we're linked with my favorite is the youngest – Pulisic.

I would like to think we still have an interest in Ante Coric too. I think he looks very special. I don't see Dortmund selling Pulisic, I don't want Ox. I think Moura is perfectly suited to our style of play and I like the idea of another Brazilian joining the party.

My order of wants are;

Puislic, he is 18 and growing in ability. I believe if he becomes develops in the way he is doing he will be world class which will give us a club more commercial clout.

Douglas Costa and Lucas Moura's value are loads of tosh as being reported by the press, circa £30m. If we want them we'll need to pay at the minimum £40m.

Brandt like Puislic looks like a real talent but will not have the same commercial impact.

The rest are Meh......

Who the fuck on here gives a toss about 'commercial impact' ?!

I want two. Can I have two please ?

Lucas and Brandt. One more mature (think ave. age of PL winning teams, 27-28 yrs old) and one 'proven' rising star and not just a gamble.

This video is on a somewhat related note, since we're probably looking specifically for quick AMs in the Mane mould rather than someone like Coutinho or Isco. A few of the potential targets are on this list...

That sounds good, but what about your stereotypical "cold night at Stoke"?

The thing is, none of our Brazilians lack heart and effort. Moura looks to be someone who likes to put a shift in, even in the less glamourous fixtures. I wouldn't be concerned.

Douglas Costa or Lucas Moura would be perfect for us. I think we need to go for more established players rather then the up and coming this summer.

I'd be equally happy with either of them.

I'd get Goretzka

Goretzka is a massive talent, could become world class under Klopp. Hope we get him.

Crazy! When WoF labels you Weakness as injury prone, it's a big fat warning to avoid. Injury prone good players are worse to have in a team because their absence fucks up momentum and rhythm.
He played 27 games in the league this season. That's not Sturridge territory at least.

I'm pretty sure most premier league winners are in and around the 25-26yrs mark for average age. Th youngest average age was 24.

Ours this season is 26 - so we don't need to get older.

The average age of a squad in the PL is 27.4 yrs old. Man City's is 28.3, Chelsea's 26.6. Ours is 25.7 (second youngest to Spurs), Arsenal and United both over 27.

Obviously buying players around that age (or younger by a year or two) will help maintain a squad age (as obviously all are aging) whilst buying 18-22 year olds will give us less experience and fewer leaders on the pitch.

Interestingly I think it was Juventus who put out a team in the CL with an average age of 31 in one of their matches this year (quarter-final I think).

I love it how some people think a really young average age, and buying players at 20 years old, is some kind of amazingly great and admirable goal.

There's one reason why clubs buy young players; they're cheaper and they can be sold on for more money to a bigger/ richer club later.

And of all the teams you've mentioned only one is going to win the Premier League. The one with the average age of 26.

The second place team in the league is also the youngest one.

So your original point was based on an incorrect assumption and the above post doesn't assist your argument based on that assumption.

Who thinks its an admirable goal ?
