i always thought selling ibra was a mistake, he offered so many options of play for Barca as well as having the technique to play their style - messi may not have scored as many but they would probably been a more effective team.

Nah, awful decision to buy him, good decision to sell once they had.

He slowed their play down too much.

And yeah, Barca are not what they were. They don't seem to have that extra gear or two that they used to be able to kick into. That said, Atletico are a very good side these days.

1-1, Neymar scored the equalizer. Messi off at half time with thigh strain.

It was a dull game.

Barca enjoyed a lot of possession but they didn't do very much with it as A.Madrid more or less played the perfect game to deny them any kind of time or space in midfield. Atletico were largely banking on hitting them on the break and they always looked dangerous when managed to do it - see Villa goal.

Barca looked fairly clueless as to how to change things. Messi went off with a knock at half time and Fabregas came on though it didn't make much difference. It wasn't till Neymar got the goal that the game changed. Atletico tired and Barca started to create chances.

As Oncey said, they're not quite the Barca of old.
