Every “senior” appearance I’ve seen him in he’s looked dreadful.

Is it a confidence thing or is he always poor?

Always poor whenever I’ve seen him, unfortunately. I’m rooting for him to make it here, especially since I saw his Liverpool debut with my own eyes at Yankee stadium - he played for 3 minutes and the crowd heartily cheered every pass. But so far that was the high point.

Interestingly, this was mentioned by one of head of youth development over here. Were he praised Hoever as one of the best players he had seen at the youth tournaments.
Also said that van den Berg stood out and had been very impressive. Said the critisism he had recieved for his performances against senior players was a bit weird given he’s 17, and not ready for that yet.

On a more serious note, he's improved compared to the game against Arsenal - give him a few more years before judging him as you have other players who've done well for Liverpool.

Team overall has been good considering all the factors. Should have scored 3 goals, which sucks.
