A lot of positive comments about them this season.
What do yous think?
Their squad is pretty fantastic (defenders are good) and has so much variance, pace, skill etc The reason I mention this is that ive just heard that Frimpong and Wilshere are both back next fortnight.
They played Arshavin, Oxlade, Walcott last night who cant even get a game for them.
They are looking really strong this year imo.

Bould has been a massive factor, he's helped give them a bit of balance and grit, which they lacked

Don't think their defenders are that good - but they're far better than I thought they'd be. Credit where it's due.

Quietly having a flying start despite selling RVP.

Hopefully they will take points off Man U and prevent them from winning the PL or any title again this year.

Since we have no chance of winning, any team but Man U will do for me.

Those Man U fans posting stuff after our game with them in the FB are incensing me big time. Like to see them whimper at the end of the season.

I wished we bought Carzola.

He was mentioned on here for a few years and anyone that follows La Liga knew he is top class. I think one guy in particular championed him (Molby?)... unfortunately we missed out. Hopefully Suso develops as we'd all like him to and we'll have our own version.

Arsenal as a whole are a difficult team to judge as they frequently have spells of looking totally unplayable but always end up collapsing at some point, which effectively ends their season. This time around Wenger has bought some experience in so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out for them.

They've had a great start and you have to give credit to Wenger for rebuilding his side again, I know a lot of people hate him but Arsenal and their fans have been very lucky to have him.

He's given them some periods of fantastic football whilst keeping the club in the champions league consistently with a net spend of pretty much zero, allowing them to pay off the stadium. Sure they haven't won very much but they're in good health and good to watch. Hopefully we're not a million miles behind them.

Arsenal had always faced some injury crisis at times in a season. Could it be the players that Wenger buys, or that their medical staff are inept? If they avoid the injury bug this season they will be a strong threat.

Yeah wouldve loved cazorla. Amber cabs and myself championed him a lot. Was sickened when he went to malaga, even more sickened when he went to Arsenal.

Shit goalkeeper, average full backs and I still don't rate Vermaelen and he's apparently their best centre back.

Plus they've got zero winners in that side.

They'll play nice football, win nothing and finish top 4 as they always do.

For what it's worth and with some of my past predictions in mind, that's probably not too much, I think Arsenal will eventually struggle for 4th even.

They've had a great start and some of the new players with Podolski in particular have hit the ground running, but I believe their good run won't last and when they face a tough set of fixtures and some bad luck I very much doubt they have got the mental strength to keep going.

Was discussing this with the 2 Gooners in my family (Dad & my son) yesterday and was telling them that I think they'll do much better than expected this year. They seem to be a more solid team so far this year. Bould seems to have made a difference in that regard.
Also, doesn't look like they're missing RVP's goals either, but it's still early in the season and they usually have a blip somewhere along the season. Question is, will they be mentally tough enough to withstand it? IMO, they could very well do so.

I started a thread about them in the summer saying I think they have a really good chance of the title this season and I still think they do. In fact I backed them at 14/1 to do so.
Excellent midfield with Wilshire to come back, Diaby finally back and looking excellent, Arteta was a great signing last year.
For their front 3 you have choice of Podolski, Giroud, Gervinho, Chamberlain, Walcott and Arshavin which is a very nice and varied 6 to choose from.
Full backs and a keeper is where they struggle as Ryan points out but Jenkinson has improved so much this year it is quite unbelievable and still have Sagna to come back who is excellent.
Gibbs and Szcesney are the weakest links without a doubt. Vermaelen and Kocslieny are very good centre backs.

Also I mentioned signing Cazorla about 4 years ago, still makes me sick we never went for him. Fantastic player to watch.

Yep Amber and Slug has always raved about Santi Cazorla.

As had Keni, Molby and myself. He's a lovely player.

How the fuck did that happen?

How the fuck did that happen?
Still can't figure it out dude...Explained it in a different thread a few months back. Combination of Fifa 08 (I think) and dad's relationship with his 1st grandson. Dad's been a Gooner for ages and got my boy over to the dark side.
Hey, it could have been worse. They could have been scum fans, then I would have had to murder them both.
At least now, we are all united in our hatred of anything scum related.

Am the only one who actually rates him?
You and Wenger it seems!
The one goal conceded against Southampton was his fault. He got sent off in the first game of the Euros giving a way a penalty. He is a decent keeper with potential to be better but for a team who want to challenge at the top he's just has far too many mistakes in him

If Wenger's eye for defensive players (keepers and outfield players alike) had equalled the one he has for midfielders and attackers, they'd have won more over the years IMO.
