Jose in goal.

John, Jamie, Jack in defence.

Jay in midfield.

Is Jonjo on the bench?

He is, with Joe sitting beside him.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Suarez and Carroll are too isolated up front as our midfielders are being pinned back all the time. Raul should be shifted to centre midfield to help link up with forwards imo.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Our midfield are being run over and outplayed.
We're having trouble keeping possession. We need to start breaking up arsenals play in midfield and push the backline forward. We're playing too deep. Easily said then done...

Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez and Carroll need to stop wasting the ball.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Come on Kenny, push our fullbacks a little higher up. We're playing too deep.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Jose Reina/Jamie Stephens
John Flanagan
Jamie Carragher
x
Jack Robinson
Jay Spearing
Jonjo Shelvey
Jesus Fernandez
Jason Banton
Joe Cole
John Mukendi

We're almost there.

Aurelio is made of glass.

i think he's probably mostly sellotape at this point.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Flanagan is so good they've listed him on the official "first team squad" twice 🙂

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

I think Flanagan and Robinson have been outstanding. Good positioning and timely interceptions by Flanagan, while Robinson's pace has allowed him to keep up with Walcott and stopped him from trying out his hit-it-past-the-fullback-and-run-very-quickly trick which he tried against the hamstrung Aurelio. Robinson must have balls of iron - just thrown into the game, and within 30 seconds, he's making overlapping runs into their half and making himself available to Suarez.

Speaking of Suarez, he really needs to show more patience in this game. This is the sort of game where our midfield is going to be dislocated from the front two, so he'll need to drop back a bit more to collect... and use it wisely unlike what he's been doing so far. It's difficult for him but he has to understand the circumstances we're operating under today.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Robinson and Flanagan have shown that they can easily make the step up. Robinson has a nice turn of pace and stepped onto the field like he belongs. Didn't need any time to adjust at all.

That's what many said about Insua

Luved watching Kenny joking around with Robinson before he came on.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

Eboue's second career ender of the game, albeit only his first this half, so he should be fine.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

I've had a few those as I have kinda loose ankles. His whole weight was on it and it hurts like hell but he should be ok.

Re: PRE-MATCH THREAD: Arsenal vs Liverpool

I played on with a snapped cruciate ligament. You don't really know you've done it till your knee gives way the next time.

Hope I'm wrong. It was just the way he jolted it that looked horribly familiar.

I'm hoping the physio would have picked that up?
