Arsenal To Launch Cheeky January Bid For Liverpool Outcast?

By Chris Wright

Word on Rumour Avenue is that Arsenal are seriously considering making a cheeky January bid for Liverpool’s bench-bound defender Daniel Agger, and that they may face competition from their north London rivals Tottenham in doing so.

Agger is known to be tiring of his peripheral life at Anfield, with a recurring back problem and a public ‘difference of opinions’ with manager Roy Hodgson serving to severely limit his availability.

As things stand, the classy Dane has only made three starts for Liverpool this season and it is being speculated that an offer of around £7 million may be enough to swing it in Arsene Wenger‘s favour.

Classy on the ball, versatile on it, a penchant for long-range Exocet’s, relatively cheap and only 25-years-old yet with plenty of international experience, the thought of Daniel Agger in an Arsenal shirt just seems to sit flush, doesn’t it?

Did this 'story' appear in Plumber's weekly or something?

Enjoyed the "bench-bound defender" description as well.

Would anyone pay that much for Agger? Considering that they are not getting a player who will be fit to play very often.

Wenger paid £8.5M for an untested, injury prone Koscielny,

absolute bollocks to this, a quality young premiership proven defender going for 7 million, no chance, if that happens we will have the slowest collection of centrebacks in the world hoofing it until Roy is forceably removed from the managers dug out
