At least it looks like we're in for one, Afellay, Turan, Young, Hazard..

I thought Afellay is more in the Iniesta mold?

You're probably right, I haven't seen much of him, I just always assumed he was a wide player for some reason :-\

I would've thought so as well. Affelay has always looked to be a pacey, skillful attacker who players out wide to me.

I honestly haven't seen enough of Turan to judge. Is he sexily brilliant or what. If so, why has no-one made them an offer they couldn't refuse?

This is what concerns me as well. If he's so good, why is he still in Turkey?

There are always quality guys like Arshavin that don't get picked up I suppose, but they're usually the exception rather than the rule.

agree, why is he still there?

Apparently he is a liverpool fan
Galatasaray midfielder Arda Turan has revealed he would be interested in a move to Liverpool.

The Turkey international has voiced his desire to play overseas in the past, and the Merseyside club would seem to be his preferred destinations.

"Of course I want to play abroad but it is our board's decision," the 23-year-old told uefa.com.

"As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition.

"In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them."

Reports have linked Turan with a move to Anfield in the past.

The Turk is an ambitious player who is keen to play for big club, but he maintains that his primary concern at the moment is to keep improving as a player.

"My dream has always been to play for one of the top European clubs, but you shouldn't make concrete plans in your life because sometimes these plans cannot be achieved," he added.

"This is my dream, but for now I'm just working on my football.

How old is he? 24? You'd have to assume that being in Turkey at his age, he's not progressed enough to attract attention or he's missed the boat at a key stage of his career.

That's good news but here's hoping we're in for at least two of them.

Including Sanchez.

Arda can make the grade with us. He is a talent.

£10M should do the trick! He actually wants to play for us, get him.

There has been talk about Turan for ages. Kenny likes him though.

How do you know this?

No. He's very much a pacy wide player.

As for Turan, he's obviously a good player but given that the best of Europe have scouted him for the past three years and not taken a stab at him yet suggests that he's not exactly the world class talent he's made out to me. One thing that does stand out is that he's not overly quick. So while he's played as a winger thus far, he'll probably graduate into a Joe Cole type player in the long run.

That's hardly old though is it Mark ? And he's only just turned it as well. We didn't even use to put players intothe first team years ago until they were about that age. Now we just blood them far too early and fuck up their minds and bodies...
