Modo, change your signature. The more you post, the more I think Brendan was a genius.

Heard that one before but it's Ok if it makes you feel better about yourself.
Fact is that your statement is shit and you probably dont have anything to back it up with.
Check the match thread.

His agent saying that he'll have talks with Milan after the Italian super cup this weekend.
Says we'll do business at 10 mill.

God I want Aqua sold just to get rid of that fucking annoying agent of his.

I can't believe the endless debate about a player who just doesn't want to be here. We bought the lad when he was injured as we were prepared to take a punt on him hoping his undoubted talent would shine through. Well, for me, it didn't. He showed it in flashes but the reality is this - he mainly shit out of playing and feigned illness and injury to avoid playing whilst at the same time gorging himself at the big fat salary trough that was put in front of him. That to me is the worst kind of player imaginable. It's also one of the reasons we can't shift him. So here's a player who doesn't want to be here yet is quite happy to gorge himself on big fat wages he gets here yet does not give a fuck about the club, or its fans, in any shape or form. He is quite happy to go out on loan so he retains his nice fat salary cake and run down his contract so this club gets fuck all of the investment it put in for him back. And even if he does go we'll likely have to his salary subbed by us. And yet he remains unhappy here and desperate to go. Sorry but all that sickens me and makes him one of worst type of players imaginable. Undoubted talent but no fucking spine. Wants to go but won't if it hits him in the wallet. What a contradictory cunt he is. I really can't believe that some people are defending the lad to the hilt and making out we'll collapse as a team without him on the basis of a few preseason games where we've employed some trial formations. Well, we won't and we showed under Kenny that's the case. And yes Suarez was a huge part of that and will be again. We'll have players who want to be here and play for the club. Not greedy lame arse gobshites who want to have their cake and scoff it. It IS a shame as the lad has skills but it means nothing without application. Bring on the day when him and his gobby agent fuck back off to where all the spineless cowards belong I say.

In the 2nd half of the season we had a certain Suarez who carried us. Let's put all the burden on him again. We have a captain that is struggling with injuries and no other central midfielder with Aquilani's class. I thought we we're striving to get better?
But I guess you're happy with status quo, Richey.
No I am not happy with the status quo, but I never said we had to did I?

We have signed 3 midfield players this summer, all of whom have decent records in the league last season, so there is a good chance things will be better anyway.

Don't get me wrong, if we keep Aquilani and he does well then great but I'm not pinning all my hopes on a player who has only ever started 10 games for us

If anything needs sorting out it's our defence at the moment anyway. Keep Meireles, play him in his proper position as a central midfielder, and get in a CB and LB.

Thats all fair and well but his performances against Malaysia Sweatshop XI and Fjords R Us over the last few weeks mean that I'm prepared to forget everything you've just said.

FWIW yesterday's "Times" said that he'll go to Milan under the heading "Dead certs", though the wording of the item itself was a little more vague than that.

Fair enough.

Kenny says:

“Alberto is a very good footballer full stop, irrespective of where he is playing,” Dalglish said.

“If he's here for the start of the season that wouldn't be a problem.”

Ouiii, I think it should be Hong Kong Prada SweatShop, Malaysia Yellow CleanUp....

The jolly boys outing on this thread is laughable, he's failed (largely due to non-footballing reasons) ergo he's shit.

Have you all still got black and white telly's?

He's gone anyway so we should just move on, he's a good footballer who for reasons of his own and reasons of the club never got to show his true potential, which is fucking criminal given the fee we paid and the obvious talent he's got.

Same posters moaning in every thread about the mediocrity of our new signings and then dismissing the only bit of obvious class we've shown pre season (which coincidently is a chance for players to prove themselves, as much as their fitness).

Nay worries, we've got Lucas to come back anyway.

I've not said he's shite Mark in fact I've said he has obvious talent. It's those non-footballing reasons that are the issue and which lead me to believe he won't give 100% for this club ever. So what's the point in persisting with the notion he has a major role to play in the team? I'd be more than happy if he was to prove me wrong and demonstrate his talent consistently in a red shirt but he's not done that to date nor do I imagine he ever will.

Its been a shambles of a transfer from start to (nearly, hopefully) finish. I agree with every word of Sunny's post. Somebody said a while back that this transfer was almost as bad as the Keane transfer. Compared to this shite the Keane transfer was the transfer of the decade.

I know mate, I meant the Modo witch hunt earlier and the stupid constant quotes about Aqua "playing well against Malaysia" being the only reason why a few posters are backing his talent.

Aqua is gone, so he can rather move on sooner and leave us with some time to sort out our own options. Hopefully he take Poulsen, Cole, Insua, Spearing (I know Kenny have a very soft spot for him), Ngog and Degen with him out the door the next few weeks, but it is very quite on most of them....

Why would anyone pay ANYTHING for a guy that has averaged 7.5 games a season over four seasons and last scored in 2005

You have no idea how many starnge signings football sees every year. There is allways a Old Arry or Steve Bruce who snap up a bargain at the end of the transfer window. Unlucky for us Rafa aint back in business yet 😉

Considering he scored against Portsmouth in 2010, I'd say that stat is bollocks. Probably 5 years too late.
I think Dee was referring to Degen

A talented player deserves one full season at a football club.

Until we get the fee which reflects his current value - £12-13M in my book - then we should hold onto him. If someone stumps up the cash then fair enough, cut our losses. But we shouldn't allow ourselves to be screwed over yet again.
