He's not played there for us yet - so it's difficult to be assured that he'll do a decent job there. I like Lucas, but there's some doubt as to whether he wants to stay or whether Rodgers rates him (considering he's not played him much since declaring him an acolyte not long after he started). I think there's a valid question in a system where the deepest lying midfielder is hugely important in not only contributing to our forward play but also helping an often isolated centre back pairing, as to whether we have the personnel to do this. Personally I'm not convinced any of our squad is good enough to meet the demands of that role in Rodgers three-man midfield.
I get the feeling it what some people would prefer.. and If I am tbh.. I have a life, family, a pregnant wife, a career to maintain.. (without sounding bullish) and quite frankly I cannot be bothered with this anymore if it going to cause this much anguish and upset amongst people..

He needs to be eased in to midfield - he hasn't played their much and he goes walkabout positionally all the time.
I have concerns about him as a DM, because of his lack of discipline - I think he's ideal for CM if there is a DM behind him - but I don't think he's ready oust Henderson or better than Millner at the minute - so a few years in rotation as an understudy with them is ideal.
Agreed. Can simply doesn't have the discipline to be a starter. I even worry about him at CM. He's still young though.

A number 1 CB (I think Lovren, Sahko, Toure and Skrtel are all number 2 CBs.. all very erratic and looking to step out/dive in.. you can't have 2 Henchoz's.. you need that calming Hyppia type.. it shouldn't even cost that much money.. could be an older experienced CB.. as Metresacker shows, it's more about calm leadership than pace)
And possibly a defensive coach too.
I think Can will be quality, but I'm not sure he's got the discipline to play at DM. He likes to wander off up the pitch like Agger. I think he'd be more successful in the longer term playing a more attacking role. If he had the responsibility of playing DM next year I think we might be pulling our hair out, not because he can't do it, but he'd probably be trying to do too much.
I think asking him to do it from a central position in midfield is a slightly different ask, he doesn't have to be an amazing out and out defender to do so, even though he's a more than competent one anyway. I think he's ideal in a sort of Yaya type role, box to box with the ability to put a foot in. Obviously with Hendo there we maybe need him to be more disciplined, but it's a good option.

You asked for Modo to be banned daily at one point.... Don't re-write history, you're as much to blame as the negative posters for why threads become repetitive back and forths on the same subject.

When did I ask for Modo to be banned? He used to fuck me off, but the mods in here will tell you that I used to say I didn't want him banned, I never once banned him either. I've never asked for anyone to be banned, other than Mr John, who lets face it, deserved it.

You can't always tell which ones they are. One of the things which mark out agenda jockeys of the kind which annoy mark so much - quite reasonably IMO - is the way they drag their particular preoccupation into every thread in sight, regardless of its actual content. That especially is what got on so many posters' t!ts about Modo for example.

Oh and Ryan can fuck off about doing peoples tits in, says the gobshite who's sole purpose to call everything and everyone a cunt, while following DB around like a stalker.
I don't recall hearing/reading that but it would certainly fit in with the way he seems to want his midfielders to play, i.e.predominantly on the front foot though covering back when needed.
