Wouldn't it be nice if the management was thoughtful enough to make Anfield an internet Hot Spot? That would be particularly useful as I find it more or less impossible to get a WAP connection inside the stadium, and George Sephton the MC is - in my opinion - rubbish at keeping the crowd informed of scores at other matches.

About 4 years ago they had an open Wifi network around the ground. However, it appears they took it down when they realised 20k smartphones were trying connecting to it at half time.

It appears that people on 4g phones are fine getting on the net in the ground, just people on 3g aren't. I have given up trying to get on to the web there and turn off mobile data so I can still make and receive texts.

During the match the TVs do show the scores though, this could only be on 3pm kick offs though.

That's why i turn mobile data off. It turns your phone in to 2g status and as hardly anyone uses that any more things go through.

I never used to have any problems with O2 in the ground.

I get a signal & a weak data connection. Takes ages to load but it's there.

They really should have a wifi hot spot but I imagine it'd cost a helluva lot to get a reliable signal for that many people at once.

It would be easy you would need about 4 external access point preferably by Ruckus and a nice big juicy fat pipe, they could even make people sign up to use it thus getting their emails addresses for mailing people offers or they could charge to make money from it...

We are putting in a 40 hectare meshed wireless network in Kenya, so a football stadium is a piece of piss.
