Andre Gray charged with misconduct

That's absolute horseshit. They didn't care enough to charge him back then and are just looking for some good PR. Even though what he said was completely abhorrent, if they didn't punish him then, they shouldn't be punishing him now. I'd like to give him the benefit of doubt that he's grown up since then. He was what, 20? at the time.

The FAs entire disciplinary process seems to be based around whats flavour of the month. If people are outraged, ban someone, if people don't care, let it be.

We should try and get the weekend game replayed under the grounds that he should have been banned from 2012 onwards

Is this the same incident as when he & that hairy primate Richard Keys made sexist comments about the linesperson

y the re? 😉

Yeah, thats my take on it aswell. Someone dug up these tweets from 2012 after our game on Satuday, and although the comments in themselves are abhorrent as you say, it makes no sense to punish him now.

The FA just didnt know what to do (as usual) so they charged him is my guess.

Just stupid, it was 2012 when he was an unknown. It's 4 years later, while I don't condone what he wrote in any way, the PC brigade have too much power these days. I'm pretty sure 2012 was before they brought in the social media rules against football players anyway.

I suppose had they charged him in 2012, he wasn't wealthy enough to make it worthwhile. Now it's a whole different ball game, they can extract a very tidy sum out of him.

I read an interview with him when he was at Brentford and he admitted that at that time he was going nowhere; not really getting in the team at Hinckley and getting up to mischief off the park. He was stabbed in the face and, while recovering, thought closely about his life. He said he realised that if he carried on as he was going he'd end up in jail, so he knuckled down to the football and has got into the Premiership in 4 years. So, it makes no sense to charge him, much better to use him as an example of how you can turn your life around.

Completely and utterly ridiculous decision, though not unexpected from the bunch of incompetent posers who make up the FA Disciplinary Dept.

James Milner also faces charges after it emerged today that, while attending Westbrook Lane Primary School in Horsforth, he said to his fellow classmate Bradley Fishwick, 'See that dog sliding down the hill on its arse? That's your mum, that is!'

Why didnt the soppy fucker use the 'I left my phone on the bar and some other fucker did it'
Dumb shit

What an absolute load of shite. It's embarrassing if Liverpool supporters have dug this up. As awful as the tweets were, they're 4 years in the past. Who cares what this nobody said 4 years ago. People need to get a life.

Given the time they were dragged up, it seems likely thats the case

They were brought up before our game - I am good friends with an LGBT in sports campaigner and I saw him getting stuck in to them before we played them. I think it was the first game of the season that prompted people to look him up.

I think he got some racist abuse off his supporters (yeah kick it out worked out well didn't it), so he called them backwards people or from the dark ages. So that's why they got brought up. Hilarious stuff all around. No less than football, and by proxy the whole country, deserves until they decide to grow up and understand the substance of these issues.
