For a bit of fun right.
We sell
Carroll - 17m
Aquilani - 3m
Jones - 500k
and
Bellamy - 4m

That gives you 24.5m
The owners are willing to make it up to 30m.

So how would you mould the squad for the start of the new season.
You cant sell anyone else and have no more money. K? K.

Reina/Doni
Johnson/Kelly
Agger/Coats
Skrtel/Agger
Enrique/Robinson/Flannagan

Lucas/
Adam
Spearing
Henderson
Gerrard
Adam
Cole
Shelvey
Downing
Sterling
Suso
Borini
Suarez

Some might say one Adam is bad enough 😀

From that lot, i reckon our best team is:

----------------- Reina ----------

Johnson ---- Skrtel --- Agger --- Enrique

------ Gerrard --- Lucas --- Adam

Cole ---------- Borini -------- Suarez

I'd spend £15m each on 2 good young attackers (23 or under), one a striker and one a wide forward, or ideally able to play both roles. I'll leave it to the Football Manager types to suggest names, but I suppose the sort I've got in mind is Daniel Sturridge.

Seems like the only option there is for the starting team. Have to say after seeing Bellamy in the Olympics - I really hope we don't lose him.

Well all I can say is that Oncey's scenario is a nighmare one - our team without Bellamy is a bad mistake - he offers a lot to our team and we need that type of player.

Just want to add -that a front three of:

Dempsey -- Suarez -- Bellamy

Would give me a wet dream !!!! but I guess thats not in this scenario. Those three are angry motherfucking players !!!!

You don't think we need another striker after offloading Carroll, Bellamy, and Kuyt, and only bringing in Borini?
To be honest Peter, we need a lot of things. We need a striker, a wing forward, a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder and possibly even a center half, considering that Skrts and Agger might leave the "sinking" ship.
£30 million isnt gonna get you that.

Man we fucked up last summer.
If only true grit could win you the premiership.

I was happy with Downing, and Jose, but the other two ... No not happy.

Agree totally, he's a quality player and at 33, his pace shows little sign of going away - something we badly lack.

Be very foolish to let him go. I'd play him up top with Suarez and Borini. Think he'll probably leave though 🙁

LOL *not sure if serious pic* ...the same Neymar who scored and assisted in a 2-0 victory over Great Britain and twice versus Scotland, that's not too shabby against apparently more physical players if that's what you're getting at.

Thats what makes it worse coz GB team had their first game together and they only got beat 2-0 so if they meet again i think brazil will find it harder - They struggled against egypt so i think they r beatable.

Adebayor would be great on loan. Or maybe a 2 year contract at most. Wouldn't want him ties down to the club for long. And City would have to subsidize his wages I guess.

Belhanda would be a good signing.

Rossi providing his injury hasnt finished him off. That could be a bargain and he would meet all our requirements.

Clever money is on Allen and Walcott, failing that Allen and Johnson, oh and with a side dish of Dempsey (at the right price)

Me too.
Id take Sturridge and Johnson or whomever their European counterparts are.

I have a feeling wages are included in our transfer budget this summer, wiich could explain why sigi wasn't signed.

So whilst we may have £40 million to spend, half of that is for wages.

Dude. This is a theoretical thread.

I'd probably go for two attack minded players as well. Maybe Schurrle because he can play across all 3 positions up top. The other lad maybe Gaitan or Cazorla - can both play wide or in the midfield. 2 signings, yet loads of decent options. Plus any quality loanee we can get out hands on.
