Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg has provided an update on the fitness progress of Alisson.
The Brazil shot-stopper suffered a calf injury in the Reds' opening game of the season against Norwich.
Achterberg claims the 26-year-old is making 'steady progress' but warns Liverpool won't risk rushing him back prematurely.
The former Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper told Liverpoolfc.com: "Ali has been working with Dave [Rydings] in the gym a lot to improve the strength and try to keep the fitness levels up.

"In the last few days he has been out on the pitch to do some catching and footwork, as well as small passing drills.
"He has made steady progress, but it is difficult to say how long it will take or how it will progress.

"It needs time and we cannot look too far ahead, so we take each day as it comes, see how he feels, and then make progress from that."
The No.1 has been working at Melwood throughout the international break with a specially tailored rehabilitation programme in place.

I pulled my calf muscle last week - and it twanged again the other day.

Its fucking sore and I’m miserable hobbling around the place.

I never thought I’d get an injury similar to a world class professional sportsman.

Thankfully it hasn’t impacted my ability to have beers & wine - but i need to be extra careful when m carrying cases of said tasty beverages to the car for home shipping & sipping.

I never know if Binomial is joking or serious.

I hope it's a shit parody account.

He's one of those really bad posters who are often mistaken as satirical, with an effortless dryness that only really really clever people would get.

When actually he's just really really dim.

The Anfield turf is terrible and so is Gini. Mass genocide is always a good option too. That's some higher plane stuff right there.
