Don't think so. I reckon it's actually short for "European Championship Finals" (why else would it be a plural?), in which case macca's quite right. If it *were* short for just "European Championship" it wouldn't make sense anyway, because it would then be a possessive, meaning "of the Euro", thereby begging the question: "the Euro's what?"

I'll get my anorak.

I stand very much corrected.

Thanks. Apologies for doubting you macca!

One more thing. According to Russian sources, Dzagoev is under contract till 2016, rather than December of this year as reported by Western media. CSKA president Evgeniy Giner is a shrewd buyer and seller; I cannot possibly imagine he doesn't have his prized asset locked up long-term.

rurik - who is the next big thing in Russian footy after Dzagoev?

For Russian footy I don't know - doesn't seem to be anyone at the moment that people are genuinely excited about. At least I haven't heard of them. In Ukraine, Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko seem to be the most talented players of this generation.

Alan Dzagoev may be on the move to Tottenham Hotspur after his father and agent Tariel Dzagoev reported that Spurs are in contact with the 22-year-old Russian from CSKA Moscow.

Dzagoev is thought to cost in the region of £15m, but reports are unconfirmed whether the forward is out of contract or not.

Dzagoev started to gain a lot of attention from Premier League clubs after putting in some scintillating performances in the group stages of Euro 2012. The speedy Russian was equal top goal scorer in the competition with three goals and always looked threatening.

Previously Arsenal were understood to be interested in replacing Andrei Arshavin with his fellow countryman, however Dzagoev’s father said that their north London rivals, Tottenham are more likely to get their hands on the youngster.

"I don't know if he will stay at CSKA," Tariel Dzagoev is quoted by the Daily Mail. "There are offers - from Spurs and other clubs.

"But I tell him not to hurry. Yury Zhirkov ran off to Chelsea and sat on the bench."

Are Spurs going to play 4-6-0 in the coming season as well?

Spurs are linked with EVERYONE, and sign 0,02 % of them.

He wont join Spurs that Im pretty certain of.

why are our competitors linked with the cream of European talent and we are linked with mark davies?

Can we start a "Pessimist Thread" for you? Then we can all go there and be miserable ... but try not to be miserable in every single thread - it's not good for your health, or ours.

I'm still struggling to get over from your positivity last summer. I've been making real positive steps recently. Don't do this to me!

We're not signing Neymar????????!!!!!!

I think though, in all honesty, we'll make some good and exciting signngs. Rodgers bought well for Swansea.
Narsingh or someone like that and 'll be a positive bugger again.
