But it is far to say that since leaving Anfield, Jerome Sinclair's career has yet to fully ignite.

Having made five senior outings for Liverpool, the 20-year-old striker moved to Watford at the end of his Reds contract in 2016, but has made only six appearances since.

Sinclair had been set to join Championship side Sheffield United on loan, only for the move to fall through on deadline day.

And a brilliant, insightful video from the Bleacher Report website has revealed exactly why, with the agent Aidy Ward seemingly playing a central role.

Bleacher Report were offered behind-the-scenes access to Sheffield United on deadline day, following Blades boss Chris Wilder as he sought to conclude a number of deals before the end of the window.

The video shows Wilder speaking with his head of football operations Carl Schieber, confirming on Thursday morning that a move to Sinclair was 'all done', with only a signature required.

Indeed, it is revealed that Sinclair's agent, understood to be Ward, has informed the club that the player is heading to Sheffield to finalise the switch.

However, by early afternoon there was still no sign of Sinclair, with a worried Wilder sending a text to theagent to find out the situation.

He discovers that Sinclair is still in Watford, and calls him to try and convince him to make the move north for the season. He is shown describing attempting to sell Sheffield United and their style of play to the youngster.

But within a couple of hours, a text from Ward reveals that the terms of the deal have changed, forcing Wilder to pull the plug.

Wilder and Schieber reveal that the agent had asked for a doubling of his fee, which United were unwilling to agree to. A move for another of Ward's clients, West Ham teenager Domingos Quina, also falls through due to similar issues.

Later, it is revealed that Sinclair is sat at Sheffield train station awaiting instruction from his agent. The move is not revived, despite Wilder insisting that the player wants to join.

Ward, of course, is no stranger to Liverpool supporters. His role in the exit of another client, Raheem Sterling, in 2015 cast him in the role as villain with fans, while he oversaw Sinclair's decision to turn down a new contract at Anfield in favour of taking his chances elsewhere.

He also represents Reds new boy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, securing the midfielder's £35m switch to Anfield this week.

I'm sure he's a nice enough lad, probably just not overburdened with intelligence or self-awareness.

Hahahahaha. I do hope so.

Footballers sharing their well-researched opinions and theories are always most welcome.

Always reminds me of the comedy routine that Rob Newman used to do, about a gang of armed robbers in Manchester who decided that a good candidate to fill a vacant spot on the team as their getaway driver would be.....the keyboard player from the Charlatans.

Unsurprisingly, this venture was not a success and they were all arrested. To cast further doubt on their thought processes, and his unsuitability as a getaway driver, he died four years later. In a car crash.

Until agents can make money out of more than getting a huge transfer for their clients we're doomed to repeat the same shite.
