As good as Aguero might be, there's no way he can be better than Tevez was can he?
He may be a better finisher than Tevez but he lacks in presence on the pitch, is notoriously lazy and he won't lead the line like Tevez did. A great player but not in Tevez's class.

Nope, Tevez was unbelievable at times last season. Top scorer in the league also.
Last season.

He's been unreal from day 1 in English football.
Didn't he take a while to settle at West Ham?

Yep, agree.
I would love to have seen how we would have done if we got him instead of masher.

He went to OT with West ham and kept them up on his own, then those cnuts bought him and he was superb for them even when treating terribly.

He was brilliant in the CL final too that they won.

Crazy bastard but possibly the best player in the league at the moment.

He may be a better finisher than Tevez...
Hasn't Tevez scored something obscene like 40 goals in 60 games for City?

I've no idea what Agueor's record is but surely it's not better than that is it?

There's a very short list of players who can replace Tevez and not make City worse off, Aguero wouldn't be on the list.

I wonder whether Dzeko can help offset some of what they'll lose by getting rid of Tevez.

It's about 1 in 2 games for Atletico I think. Which is good but not as good as Tevez's.

I also think Tevez is tougher, has the better work rate and and a more well rounded game.

In fact, the only player who I think can actually replace Tevez is Suarez.
Rooney.

He and masher just weren't played by Pardew I think it was at the time. But then halfway through the season Tevez got his chance and was f*cking immense.

Getting them 3 points a number of times on his own.

It's not better, as per below. However, I think it's the 'Torres' issue(his goalscoring record with Atleti was also quite 'meh', 82 in 214).

Tevez: 19 in 63 for Manure (0.30), 43 in 63 for Shitty (0.68), 13 in 59 for Argies (0.22)
Aguero: 74 in 175 for Atleti (0.42), 13 in 30 for Argies (0.43).

(As per Wiki)

Yeah, you're right.

If Suarez finds himself being mentioned in the Tevez and Rooney bracket at the end of the year, we're in for a hell of a season.

Where is all this 'notoriously lazy' stuff coming from? Is that a reputation he's developed over the last year (I didn't watch much Spanish football last season)? He may not have the energy of Tevez (who let's face it is almost peerless in that respect), but he still puts in a shift.

He's not a like for like replacement for Tevez anyway. They're different kinds of player. As such, I would argue that he is in Tevez's class. He won't lead the line, but he'll do a fucking sterling job of supporting a front man. I wouldn't expect him to score as many as Tevez but in terms of creating opportunities for teammates and weighing in with a good few himself he could be very effective for them.

Make no mistake this is an excellent signing for Citeh, whether Tevez is there or not.

Del - I have a few die hard Atleti fans in Madrid and having watched him plenty (for some reason, Israeli TV shows Atleti quite a bit), he doesn't put in shifts like Tevez or Suarez or Rooney. I'm not saying he's sulking on the pitch 24-7, but he's not a player who gives 100% all the time ...

That being said, I don't think I've hinted that he wouldn't be an excellent signing for them (or for that matter, us ...)

....and to think I once claimed to 'worship' Masher. *spits*.

Poor mans Big Andy.

* I really have no idea what to expect with aguero but I genuinely don't think he'll prosper In England. I've only seen him a handful of times and despite scoring a cracker the last time I saw him in the CA he's never really impressed me that
Much.

I get the impression he will be More style over substance for city..

I will wager an additional £5 that Suarez scores more prem goals than this kun.

Aguero is amazing, but he won't fill the void left by tevez. They should play 442 this year with dzeko and kun up top. Be deadly, but it missed the application and work rate of tevez

I've spoken to a couple of City fans and they all think Dzeko is dogshit and can't be relied upon in any way to fill Tevez's void.

He knows where the goal is and he admitted himself the pressure of his transfer fee affected him. A pre season of adapting and settling he'll be right as rain

£35m apparently.

I'll bet £35 that £35m Carroll scores more in the premier league than £35m Aguero does.
fuckin ell il take you up on that bet
Me too. Aguero is going to shit goals.

£35M for Aguero seems a decent price for Man City to be paying. He is a class act and will represent much better value than some of their other expensive signings.

So City will have the following strikers on their books:

Tevez
Adebayor
Dzeko
Balotelli
Bellamy
Santa Cruz
Aguero

Blimey
Blimy drinks less, shaves each day and doesn't have Jamie Carragher as his playmaker.

35 million for Aguero is outstanding, he may not be Tevez but City don't need him to be. If the rest play better next season and Aguero performs then despite the wages they would be paying, its a great buy and for me the best buy on paper. If he wasn't going to city but Chelsea/Arsenal then I think it would worse but City you can never tell.
