A bit of mixed news to digest after the Europa League game.

Agger's apparently made his 100th appearance for the club which is quite an achievement. (Injuries, age, etc).

CUDOS to the classy tatooed defender. May his next hundred be even better than the first.

*raises his glass*

In the meantime our other young defender who's been playing really well of late mind, Martin Skrtel, has now sadly broken his metatarsal.

Injuries, injuries, injuries.

*sigh*

Hoepfully Magic and Kelly will get back to their best form so we can move Carra in central. (At least untill Kyrgiakos is released from his ban).

Agree with all of that. I particularly like the way Agger's been getting stuck in and winning his physical battles more. He may yet become the player you've been telling us about for so long. 😉

Skrtel broke his foot because he pulled out of a 50/50 challenge. It also seems like it's taken a while for Agger to hit 100.

Anyhoo, Carragher back in the centre and a chance for Kelly to stake a claim.

To be honest I reckon it was actually the opposite.

He gave it a wee bit to much power that tackle. Looked like he tried to hit the ball (and opponent) into the stratosphere.

100 games in 4 years is hardly an achievement khl. I like Agger but he really does need to stay fit.

He's a great defender at times, and is extremely helpful when he brings it out from the back. That said, he needs to:

a) stay fit
b) learn how to head it towards goal when attacking instead of missing wildly on a frequent basis
c) stop thinking he's Franz Beckenbauer and can strut around so casually

Nah, he pulled out last second and his foot got caught dangling.

He needed to remain committed to the challenge.

Sorry to hear Skrtel has broken his metatarsal. I guess that means we are unlikely to see him again this season. I rate him a lot more highly than most people in these forums. There's a lot more to his game than the traditional "stopper."

Exactly, at this rate he'll hit 200 by the time he is 30.

He only just turned 25-years-old around Chrimbo.

He's only 25 - as in 100 games in four years as a CB for one of the best clubs around isn't too shabby.

Hopefully he'll reach the 200 mark in a few Seasons already.

But as said he needs to stay clear of to many niggling injuries.

CAN I JUST ADD THAT SAMI SAMI SAMI SAMI HYPPIÄ AT AGGERS AGE HAD PLAYED ZERO GAMES FOR US?

I don't understand the Hyypia point
[/quote]
There's no point really.

But to say it's not really an achievement of a 25-year-old central defender to break the 100-games-mark seems well odd, just have a look at the average age of the best defenders around.

Ferdinand, Carvalho, Sami, Terry, Cannavaro, Puyol etc etc are all well beyond 30.

And as Agger has already played a 100 games more than Sami did at his age, then who knows what he can go on and achieve at this club?
