A Week in Newfoundland

I just got back from spending a week in Newfoundland for a Canadian national pharmacy student conference and must say it was one of the best weeks I can recall (or not recall, as the case may be for parts of it).

St. John's, Newfoundland is a fantastic, interesting, cultured city with friendly, inviting people situated in a beautiful location. I can genuinely recommend it to anyone looking for an unique place to travel.

And, of course, the parties were out of hand. George Street has the most bars per square foot of any street in North America and they were top notch pubs and clubs. Even in sub-zero weather, the street was alive when the bars closed at 3:30 AM. The girls were stunning (esp. the students from Quebec City) and the food was delicious everywhere I went.

My hotel room was probably the biggest hotel party going all week, active on four nights out of five, with over 150 ppl coming through the doors of my room on Saturday night (and up to 40 ppl in the room at a given time). I took years off my life with the sheer, blatant alcoholism I undertook but it was a fantastic time.

Pretty much fell in love with a girl yesterday who spent about twelve hours hanging out and chilling. Sharp, witty and beautiful. Too bad she lives over 1500 miles away.

Once again, can't recommend travelling to Newfoundland enough. An inspiring week. Looking forward to next year in Toronto (even though I won't be a student any longer).
