'fantastic club', 'unbelievable fans', 'a lot of changes taking place and its like a breath of fresh air ', 'I think the club will have a very positive future'.
That's hardly calling us a sinking ship.

I wasn't referring to his farewell message. He did however call us a sinking ship a while back, and though it may be have been (still is?) accurate I am tired of players/managers airing their shit in public. Anyway, he's gone now, and I wish him the best of luck, but that's about it.

Yeah, only after I posted i realised you were probably referring to something said a while ago.

I agree in general. But when you've just been a key player in the teams best season in decades and then you are dropped without reason and outcast by the manager who won't even talk to you or tell you why and you see kids and adapted players being tried and failing in your position and you're training hard and want to play and it's going on for months on end would you not eventually explode too? I don't resent Albert at all, I resent Benitez for being a prick.
Same story for Keane, Crouch, Hyppia, Riise, Gonzales I'm sure there's more.

Some of those names are absurd
I'm guessing you mean Crouch. I know you didn't rate him but surely you can't deny he was fucked about in his last season. Months on the sidelines followed by a game he scores in then out again then in at RW.... Fuck it I can't be bothered. I think those players and more were better than they showed primarily because they were fucked around or not given a chance. Albert and Keane certainly were the two who received the worst treatment but by no means the only ones.

Fucking Gonzalez.

And how many bad words has Hyppia had for LFC or Benitez? None. And it was made quite clear that he'd be welcomed back as a coach. He shouldn't be on that list.

"Rafa is an excellent man-manager and during all my time at Liverpool everybody liked him and everybody respected him.

"Players don't stick up for their gaffer if you are not a good man-manager.

"It would be easy for the players to blame the manager, but they are taking responsibility and sticking up for their boss - and that's a rare thing now."

Hyypia, currently plying his trade at Bayer Leverkusen, still holds Anfield close to his heart and believes that there may be a role for him at the club once his playing days are over.

He added: "I had some great years there, made some great friends, and built up a very special relationship with the fans.

"I think the door will always be open for me at Liverpool."

"Sorry for being a bit of a cunt" might have elevated that letter to a point where it was actually worthwhile. As it is, it's all a bit meh.
Fuck off Del its a letter he didnt have to write.
Didn't have to call us a sinking ship either - regardless of how accurate it is.
That was through frustration and poor judgement on his part. My point is that no player needs to write a thank you letter to the fans, and in my oinion its a nice gesture from him.
I didn't really Hyppia or Riise were mismanaged in the same way as keane crouch and Albert to be honest just that they along with finnan were constantly looking to be replaced from almost as soon as he arrived. Kromkamp, palleta, dossena, josemi, pellebastard and others signed to shunt out far superior players. Ironically for such a defensive and dour manager the ONLY defensive player he has replaced well (although not as a good a player forme) is Didi.

No, he didn't. And neither did he have to run his mouth off to the press in the middle of one of our worst seasons in recent memory. What short memories some people have. It's worth remembering that there were similar accusations of disruptiveness levelled at him at Espanyol. And he made similar comments to this oh so gracious letter about what a great club we were, shortly after his infamous 'sinking ship' comment, and, more specifically, after he'd realised his move to Moscow had fallen through (reportedly over wage demands).

What's more, he had his opportunities early in the season and looked like he couldn't be arsed. You can forgive a player for poor form but not for a complete lack of effort. If that's what he looks like on match day, goodness only knows what he looked like in training. But hey, Albert said he's 'training well' so it must be true.

He's an egotistical, self-serving twat, which would be much more forgiveable if he had the ability to warrant it. Which he didn't. "Oh thank you, Albert! What a touching letter!" Now fuck off.

What a bunch of mentalists.
I wouldn't like to be on the end of a farewell at the airport from those mentalists having underperformed and then talked down the club to the foreign press.

Learn from your mistakes Albert before it's too late!

Nothing will top Darius Vassell reception when he joined that Turkish club.
