A Day With Rafa....

Wow. Thanks for sharing.

Ignoring the fact that it was written by Tompkins, I actually enjoyed reading the article.

So many things I would like to discuss in regards to his insights bout Rafa, I dunno where to start.

But he rates Pacheco which is encouraging cos the minute I laid eyes on him, I knew we had something special. Although it makes me wonder who Rafa was referring to when he mentioned about those muppets who have an entourage.

Pacheco perhaps ?

Whatever people may think of this Tomkins-bloke, this piece is one of the most interesting articles I've read all year. Cheers Doc.

From the article;

(... I’m also told of one world-class star in the making that Liverpool made an early approach for in 2007, but before the deal could be tied up, due to dallying, he was lured elsewhere.)

I've got a suspicion that the player he's referring to here is 20-year-old defender Simon Kjaer.

Before he left for Palermo in 2008 several of our scouts had revealed that Rafa was very interested indeed.

He costed the Italians around the £3M mark and is now already beeing valued at + £10M.

I didn't see it DWM. It deserves its own thread anyhoo. There's a lot to debate in that article there.

Heh, it had it's own thread and it's all been debated already.

I didn't debate it, ergo, it has not been debated to its fullest degree. KHL and RR didn't see it either, so it must have dropped like a stone.

Yeah it is a very good read, very interesting.
I asked in the original thread who everyone though the young player with the entourage was, I guessed Babel.
Who the teenager who 'we should watch out for' is? And who the future world class star is we missed out on, some one suggested Di Maria.

One thing I took from the article is that Danny Pacheco is further away from a first team chance than we all believe on here, I think Rafa still has doubts whether he can hack it physically.

That's probably not a bad guess.

So who was the kid he thinks is boss?

I'm glad that Nemeth's departure is seen as a stage in his development rather than goodbye too.

No one had any suggestions really.
Yeah, I was happy with what he said about Nemeth. It was the sensible move.
Lets hope he gets what he needs out there and comes back stronger and ready to have a crack at the first team.

I think that was Ribery.

I believe it's more to do with attitude.

I got a feeling he's the one who has the entourage. Either him or Nemeth.
