You do realise that Houllier finished 4th with 60 points in his last season and Benitez has just finished 7th with 63 points.

Since that total would have gotten 3rd place that year, that means we didnt 'really' end up in 7th place this year.

In the Premier League of Narnia, Rafa got 3rd place.

Hah! It took a while.

However the point I'm trying to make is that you could view it as the league has got more competitive and other teams have got better, while far from actually getting worse, we've stagnated.

In all this doom and gloom we haven't totally fallen apart and that our worst performance in a while is comparative to other teams best performances.
