Im still wondering what the Yanks were on when they gave Rafa such a contract.
Clueless owners, clueless manager.
Credit where its due, Rafa and his manager did a brilliant job.
Rafa showed us there his best skill. Politics.
We sacked Houiller after his 5th season and finishing 4th. Rightly so.
And now we're forced to keep the machiavellian spaniard after the worst season in a decade.
You do realise that Houllier finished 4th with 60 points in his last season and Benitez has just finished 7th with 63 points.
Which is worse?
Thats a pretty easy one. 4th is better right? Am I being whooshed!? I feel like I'm being whooshed!
No whoosh.
Since that total would have gotten 3rd place that year, that means we didnt 'really' end up in 7th place this year.
In the Premier League of Narnia, Rafa got 3rd place.

About time Stevie's post got burned.

Hah! It took a while.
However the point I'm trying to make is that you could view it as the league has got more competitive and other teams have got better, while far from actually getting worse, we've stagnated.
In all this doom and gloom we haven't totally fallen apart and that our worst performance in a while is comparative to other teams best performances.
