Apparently Juve fans increasingly believe (a) the Rafa deal is dead and (b) Buffon is lined up for the Mancs.

Thought VDS was getting another season?

I wonder who Wenger will buy? He's totally fucked up not replacing Mad Jens, so will deffo buy a keeper this summer

Yeah, I also heard VDS was being kept on another season. If Buffon does arrive, maybe VDS is going to transfer gradually over to the coaching side?

Where Wenger's concerned, for such a good manager his record for defensive signings generally is very, very patchy. Wonder if he might try and tap Hart up if Given remains City's no.1.

The stories last week were that the new Juve board were a bit cool on the Rafa deal, given Rafa had the meetings and has kept fairly quiet since then it does look like the Juve move is dead in the water.

I've no doubt that there would have been a media offensive laying down all the reasons why it was impossible for Rafa to stay, how he was practically forced out, and all that other nonsense - a bit like we saw the week before last.

I've heard that Wenger has been looking at Artur Boruc. He's mental but would be an improvement on that chump Almunia.

Boruc is fucking rubbish.

Apparently Wenger's after Joe Hart.

Spain have a lot of talented keepers. Maybe Diego Lopez from Villarreal or perhaps Asenjo who A.Madrid bought and then decided to leave out in favour of De Gea.

Why not?

They sold Sturridge to Chelsea.
And Arsenal sold players to them last year.

Besides, with the squad full of talent they've got, and the ones that will inevitably come this summer - some players are inevitbaly going to want to leave. And those quality players won't all want to go to Birmingham on loan.

It's not inconceivable.

Didn't sturridge force it as his contract was up?chelsea only had to pay a small compensation right?

it's even worse than you think Bunny!

Oh God! We've got another year of him the three of them, haven't we?

[/quote]

City would sell Hart to Arsenal any day of the week. They don't want to bring players through, they want to buy them for 30 million. Hart doesn't fit in with what they want to be doing, despite being a good keeper.

Good move all round.

hooray!! chin up, another rubbish season and even the biggest rafa fans will want him out.

Hart's a very good keeper right now, one capable of challenging Given for the No.1 slot next season. he's already been "brought through" on loan at Birmingham last season. He's also pencilled in to play the first 5-10 games of next season due to Given's injury. Citeh are going to want to have two top class keepers for a title/Europa league challenge next season - don't forget they just had to get an emergency loan in due to their lack of keeper depth in the squad.

Arsenal (one of the teams who prevented Citeh from securing their much-desired top 4 slot) are in desperate need of a good-enough keeper - why on earth would Citeh provide them with that for a relatively paltry sum and then have to take a gamble on a new signing?

Citeh might be spending money like it's going out of fashion, but they also seem to appreciate importance of building a "two for every position" squad with their money. Regardless of how little they are reliant on balancing the books, they'd surely realise that selling a player for 6-8m who would definitely improve a direct rival would be foolish.

The difference between Sturridge (even though he forced a move out of contract) is that Hart would walk straight into the Arsenal first team immediately and solve a pressing problem for Wenger. Sturridge was always going to find it difficult to get anywhere near the Chelsea team on a regular basis.

Alberto Aquilani will not be leaving Liverpool to return to Italy, according to his agent.

The 25-year-old midfielder has endured a disappointing season at Anfield after struggling with injuries and then poor form since last summer's £20m move from Roma,

His situation has led to speculation linking him to Juventus and Fiorentina, but Franco Zavaglia has rejected such reports.

“A return to Italy? It seems as though the stories are being made up by journalists in the British tabloids,†he told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“I don't know anything because Alberto is happy in Liverpool.

“There is talk of Juventus and Fiorentina but the Bianconeri have yet to define the structure of the club before thinking about the market.

“Equally, Fiorentina has the issue of Cesare Prandelli to resolve.

“Aquilani has recovered well from his ankle injury and for this reason I think Liverpool won't want to sell him.â€

According to Gazzeta dello sport, the Sampdoria manager Del Neri will sign a 2 year contract with Juventus.

Too soon for popcorn.

'Meltdown' will happen if or most likely when we're almost out of the title race by October. With DB and his ilk saying 'I told you so, I told you so (ad nauseum)'.. and Ryan and his lot saying 'If we win the next 10 games, we'll be only 5pts adrift of United.. 4th is guaranteed lads, stop panicking'.. it'll be the same shit, different season.

I'm more worried about which players will leave. I think that will signal how much shit we're in.
Although I was hoping we'd get a new manager (preferably getting cash for the current one to leave).
