Milan's dealings in the transfer market have been seriously impressive this summer.
Apparently, they've just signed Lazio’s Lucas Biglia and add to that the confirmed signings of André Silva, Andrea Conti, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodríguez, Fabio Borini, Franck Kessie and Mateo Musacchio who have all joined the club this summer.
They have gained the crucial signature of re-signing Donnarumma and now look set to clinch the signing of Juventus' Bonucci.
Can you see Milan fighting Juventus for the Serie A title this coming season?
I, for one, would love to see a big side like Milan back in winning form and in the Champions League again.

That's not a very impressive list for me. All B list players at best, Calhanoglu and Rodriguez are well-known names, but there is a reason no top club has been interested in their services. Bonucci is the big exception, of course. That's a strange story – absolutely unheard of in recent times to sell possibly your best player to a rival. Here's a bit of an analysis trying to decipher what's going on: https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation...-join-milan-not-chelsea-juventus-why-how-when

I reckon they are a decent striker away from challenging Juve. I don't think Bacca, Niang, Lapadula and Borini are good enough.

Kessie and Biglia will form a good midfield. If they get Bonucci, then its possible they could pip Roma, who are also rebuilding to 3rd. They wont be better then Napoli or Juve though.

Inter will be spending some serious money as well, and have Spalletti in charge.
Will be a decent fight for that final CL spot.

Not sure why AC Milan gets all this love from neutrals compared to other clubs. Numerous scandals leading to relegation. Weren't they the original Chelsea? Didn't they buy their way to immediate success using Berlusconi's wealth?

We only like them because of Istanbul '05...

Maybe because they had some of the best and most stylish teams and players of the 80's-90's and ushered in a tactical revolution of attacking football by Arrigo Sacchi. Chelsea simply doesn't compare.

Quite

If anything they're the Liverpool of Italy.

Used to be boss, then went meh, then good again, but not as good, then shite.

All their signings seem pretty well planned for (not just splashing the cash for the sake of it). Except Musacchio (26) and Borini (26, presumably as a squad player), the rest are all 25 or below. Adding Bonucci and Biglia will supplement the squad with with vital experience.

At full back positions, De Sciglio and Abate are capable players but each has had their problems with injuries, resulting in a series of stop gaps/hole plugging.

Paletta and Zapata failed to continue their good form/promise shown previously at Parma and Udinese. Big money signing Romagnoli is still only 22 yr old might yet come good. If Montella goes with a back 3, then the trio of Romagnoli, Musacchio and Bonnuci looks pretty good on paper.

Can't recall any decent central midfield pairing they had after Pirlo & Gattuso. Given the lack of CL football, landing Kessie ahead of the reported interests from other top clubs is quite a coup.

They seemed to have learned from the Bacca and Luis Adriano signings too by going for a younger player who can improve further. Given how the signings all score/assist pretty frequently, the pressure/reliance on the striker will be lower too.

Neutrals will point to the amount they have spent and probably expect a title challenge. But for a side who has not finished higher than 6th, their immediate priority should be top 3 (CL qualification) which should be achievable if this lot gel fast enough (since Roma are in rebuilding of their own while Napoli has yet to really strengthen).

Left back - Rodriguez

Right back - Conti

Centre back - Bonucci

Central midfielder - Kessie

I didn't realize we had controversies where we were convicted of influencing matches, betting etc more than once. For all their supposed style, the two main factors for their success is Berlusconi's wealth and influence.

Actually comparing them to Chelsea was me being harsh on Chelsea. Even Chelsea have not been implicated in as many football scandals as Milan.

It's Italy

Even the shit teams are riddled with dodginess

A team with Borini in it is not challenging for the Champions League. If we signed some of the players on that list people would lose their minds.

They have signed some really good players.

The challenge will now be to get the best out of that new squad on the pitch.

But I expect them to finish about 3rd or 4th at best.

In regards to people stating the calibre of the new signings is not world class - that's true, Bonucci aside - but it will definitely be a step by step project for Milan to get back to where they were.

No chance in hell they were going to go out and sign 4 or 5 top class signings this window.

Why didn't Bonucci just stay at Juve?

I remember reading something about falling out with Allegri but it just seems weird.

Apparently that is the reason. In his farewell message, he thanked the players and the fans but no mention of Allegri.

Apparently Morata is about to sign for Milan!

Crazy stuff.

Pretty much just gone out and signed a whole new starting 11.

They let the kid rot on the bench. 17 appearances isn't great for a developing talent. They should have loaned him out for a couple of years
