Good thread idea. Have seen him on a number of occasions but can't say I was focusing on him in particular. Haven't watched Athletico this year at all since he's become the forum fave.

Unless he's played for or against us I can almost guarantee I haven't seen him play.

Watched a few Slovenia's games (looked great but a lot of keepers in shit teams usually do - Ming at Sunderland being the prime example) and the Atletico - Madrid CL final (great but pathetic in the penalty shootout).

I saw him once, I didn't knew who he was then but I thought he was like a cat. He was great. Never in a million years back then would I have thought he is worth a 100 million though.

He Plays With a total different authority and confidence than our guys. And when you come With that kind of reputation you scare the attackers already when you shake their hands pre-match. A little like how Suarez scared the opposition defenders before they even came to the pitch. Maybe the reputation Karius already built will mean that any attacker is confident of scoring at him, and no matter how well he develop he will not cut it here as the attackers will always have the psycological upper hand on him?

So having such a character in addition to VVD's present would improve our defensive record. Got no doubt about that. But a combined fee in appr £165 M for the pair seem unbelievable high.

You never know. Klopp has shown he doesn't panic buy players he doesn't believe in if he doesn't get those he wants. That doesn't mean he always get his first Choice, more that he doesn't buy players he doesn't think can improve us. Keita was clearly one he really wanted, and is keen on waiting for even for a Club record fee. VVD the same. So it might be that he is prepared to wait fro Oblak in the summer, and spend on him.... If he thinks it's Worth it I Guess we all will back him there.
