Townshend got a whole half-hour to himself in the 1.30-2.00 slot. He sounded very authoritative and in control. Apparently he has been devoted to the music of Purcell since his schooldays, and based much of The Who's music on chords he heard in Purcell's works. I listened carefully but failed to make the connection! :🙂
I wonder if Pete had Purcell on his radiogram when he was downloading dodgy material? ;D

Owen really does seem unhinged these days. He was on TV last night complaining he'd been given 3s and 4s by some newspapers for his performance against Bolton, when he felt he'd been worth a 7 or 8. It doesn't exactly fit with his other claims he's impervious to criticism and never bothers to note what's said about him. Bitter little twit.
He's aways moaned about people writing him off, for someone who talks themselves up so much he does seem to be effected by criticism more than you'd expect.
I can't stand him. I don't think I hate anyone in football more than I hate Owen, I hated him before he went to Utd, now he makes we want to be physically sick everytime I see his pathetic little 'good looking and marketable' face. Moron.

He's become the Cliff Richard of football. Despite everything I can't bring myself to hate Owen.
He was my idol growing up, living every eleven year old boys dream.
He won't be remembered fondly, that's for sure. But he's still a 'Liverpool great', IMO. His goal return deserves that.
