Well?
[/quote]

He's only just come on.

Mascherano will not be leaving, nor does he want to leave. He has been highly influential around the training ground since the defeat against Lyon.

Rafa is safe regardless of whether he wins the league this year. There may be some transfer activity in Jan, but nothing significant.

Torres and Gerrard are not for sale at any price.

All of the above are pretty much direct quotes. He was refreshingly honest and direct and answered all questions and did not duck what he was asked.

He's smooth as.

He also said the owners aren't selling, merely trying to bring in more equity.

I have to agree with the 5 live pundits 'not for a sale at any price' is a bullshit statemate. everyone has a price, gerrard and torres may have a riciculously high price but they do have a price.

Yeah but he cannot say that or it leaves us open to speculation so he says exactly what he said to prevent further media speculation. You can't argue with that.

Exactly. It's more or less a 'hands off' statement.

How can you talk about Purslow and not mention that he speaks Spanish??? It means he is practically best buddies with Rafa!

I didn't hear what he was saying but everything i've seen about him reeks of control and calmness, it's exactly what we need right now.

so nothing significant in Jan, meanwhile Chelsea are talking about spending up to £30m

goes to show you the difference

Is this the same Chelsea who are banned from transfers ?

Or have I missed something ?

Wow, that was honest, and open and he seems so calm and controlled!

Masher is apparently dead happy, our only two world class players are not for sale, the yanks are not selling, rafa is safe, we're not doing any business in January

Everything is going to be fine!!

That's the spirit.

Apparently they have appealed, it will be heard next month, but nothing has been decided yet. It will be heard by a yet-unnamed panel.

what else do you expect the man who gave rafa a 5 year contract with a ludicrous compensation clause to say?

He seems a very cool customer.

Liverpool chief executive Christian Purslow was ridiculed at his first Premier League summit for speaking so strongly against accepting the recommendation of League boss Richard Scudamore to sign title sponsors Barclays' three-year renewal offer of £72m, which was turned down.

Barclays' revised £82.25m contract, agreed yesterday, proved City financier Purslow spectacularly right.

And he was very gracious when it was suggested he should take credit for that.

And, no, I'm not in love with him.
