[article]This would be out of nowhere, wouldn’t it?

Bundesliga expert Lee Price has been talking to the Express, and Mr Price has spoken of his belief Kerem Demirbay could be heading to Anfield.

Speaking on the Hoffenheim midfielder, Price said:

Demirbay is a player I’ve known of for a while but it’s only the last couple of years he’s really shown what he can do.

The young midfielder impressed for Hoffenheim against Liverpool in the Champions League qualifier, and was seen chatting to Klopp at the end of the game.

Spurs are thought to be leading the chase, as Liverpool have been concluding a deal for Naby Keita, while Chelsea have prioritised Danny Drinkwater of Leicester.

But his links to Klopp, having spent two years at Dortmund as a youth, means Liverpool is an option.

There’s a long way to go before any deal is done but there’s a genuine chance he could sign in the next couple of days to bolster the Reds’ midfield choices.

Bournemouth could offer first team football, invaluable in a World Cup year for a player on the fringes of the German national team, but who was a part of the successful Confederations Cup squad.

Don’t be surprised if he’s a late mover.[/article]

Indeed. Hard to believe that headline isn't a mockup.

Maybe we just never gave him a chance?

"Managing director Christian Purslow and club legend Kenny Dalglish were charged with conducting the search for Benitez’s replacement. Hughes and Martin O’Neill’s names were mentioned as being early candidates; with the former most readily available, given he has been out of work since Manchester City jettisoned him just before Christmas.

Hughes – who was seen talking animatedly to Purslow in the Estadio da Luz before Liverpool’s Europa League quarter-final with Benfica in March – was keen to be considered.

Harry Redknapp was another name mentioned but the man in charge of Tottenham Hotspur soon distanced him from the process.

A clear favourite, however, could be seen from the outset and that was Roy Hodgson - thanks to the impressive work he had done in guiding Fulham to their highest Premier League finish and a Europa League final in consecutive years."

Fucking hell, what a state we were in. What a state.

It's sometimes nice to remember and get some perspective.

Ive still not felt a twitch and im a bit concerned that right now all we have done is sign a player who will be like a new signing next season.

We still only actually have Salah as a first team signing.
Still big question marks over VVD, Can, Coutinho before we even get to whomever else we might sign/need.

Im not having the joys of late summer wool pulled over my eyes.
We have a LOT of work to do in 2 days.

I reckons we'll get VVD and lemar, and maybe a cheapo striker

But I still think Coutinho will go

If that happens and we resign Can id feel like it was a good window.

130m or whatever for a disaffected shitbag
IN

70m Lemar
70m VVD
50m Keita
40m Salah
8m Robertson
30m? Striker

Thats the board stepping up I suppose.

Nah, we're still losing Can next year for nowt, and any striker we get will be half that

Demirbay might be a decent option in midfield. He and Can are friends as well, might persuade him to resign.
Demirbay was wank in the 2nd leg game though.
