Özil and Khadira both on Liverpools whish-list

With the new owners coming in a scout of ours reveals a new-found optimism at the club and how we missed out on a few potential big-shots during the mess under Hicks & Gillett's ownership.

- We can now take a closer look at those clubs where the big players are. We've had the chance to get our hands on some of the big guns but the prizes on both Mesut Özil and Sami Khedira exploded during the World Cup and then we simply couldn't compete. But things have changed now it seems and that's just a big positive, Liverpools Danish scout Jakob Friis-Hansen told bold.dk.

- I've been following both players closely in a about a 1½-year and it's been a long time since they first appeared on our whish-list. The uncertainty surrounding the club made it impossible for us to sign contracts with those players however, even though we really wanted too.

At least we tried I reckon.

Ok I'll stop, it's getting depressing.

No you are not mate so I reckon he's referring to their contracts?

They're probably massive.

I think it's the right way to go though.

Look at good players in positions we need who are on shorter contracts.

I firemly believe that this would hugely improve our squad over time.

At the same time, good Bosmans with reasonable fee demands is another area we can look at.
