Where's Divock?

No sign of him in the Austrian training camp, no mention of any kind of injury... Did we wrap him in cotton wool before a potential sale?

Has he even been credibly linked with a move away from us? Seems like we are speculating on a lot of sales , Origi, Shaq, Wilson, Gruijic that so far havent got any traction. If the idea is that these sales are going to fund any spend then we are rapidly running out of time for that to happen.

Window doesn't slam shut until October, so plenty of time.

It is weird with Massive Divock, people keep talking about a move to Leeds or Villa despite no mention from anyone linked to the clubs that I'm aware.

It's almost like it's the fans trying to make the sales pitch.

Yes, Aston Villa's interest has been confirmed, including by the Birmingham local press. Leeds interest seems to be real as well.

Maybe we have already sold him, and Villa will just unleash the Divock on the opening day of the season.

Sure there is time left in the window but I doubt Klopp wants to be trying to add 2 or 3 new players to the squad after the season has started.

Beginning to think it will be Thiago or nobody

Not sure if Leeds could afford him after just splashing 26m on Rodrigo from Valencia, but who knows.

Because he's 25 and has scored 33 goals in the 6 years since we signed him.

It's a remarkably similar record to David N'Gog, albeit he managed to get on the field more.

N'Gog - In three seasons - 19 in 94 (an average of one in five goals to apps)

Origi - In FOUR seasons (he's been here five seasons and was out on loan for one of them) - 34 in 140 for Origi (an average of one in four)

It'd be interesting to see how many times they each "appeared" in their preferred position though..

The only thing Origi "got going for him" is the fact that he has scored a few memorable goals for us in important matches. Basically he's like Smicer, cult hero status but not really good enough.
He should have been sold last summer when his stock peaked.
On some level I'm OK with him staying put, but I just don't trust him.

I don't think it would be that interesting , I'd take Origi over N'Gog but neither are particularly good

I think N'Gog also got shunted out on the wing a bit, but he wasn't a bad finisher. He wasn't good enough but he was a kid we took a punt on, like Origi.

It's a weird one, at times Origi has looked awesome, but he's more often than not looked like games just pass him by and he's not as silky skilled as the rest of the front three. He'll go somewhere and do well playing week in, week out, but I'm losing patience with his lame displays now, and I really wanted him to come good to be honest, because he seems a likable lad.

Many of those are substitute appearances, Id be more interested to see his goals per 90 mins

I remember that one well. The usual retards were out in force - Ryan, Woland , Hansern, mystic

We should have a look at some of your greatest hits from the past - still waiting on Virgil’s leg to fall off and I recall you questioning why we should sign a keeper from Roma we stuck 5 past.

Wether we like it or not Divock is in the Lukaku mould more than anything. The big striker who needs to be fed not often than not. Putting him in the wing is just square pegging it as he doesn't have the dribbling, positional awareness or desicion making skills of a wide forward. He needs to be in a team where he plays in the middle and is regularly fed so that he can use his strength and pace.

I think his key goals and his plan b ness has kept him at the club longer than expected. Surely Edwards can upgrade on origi after we complete the statute!

Sadly for you, your horrendous gafs regarding Alisson and Van Dijk trumps everything. Those saw you lifted up to the supreme mong of opinions. Your out of this game now.

I didn't actually say either of those things.

5,814 minutes / 34 goals = 1 goal per 171 minutes or a little over 0.5 per 90. Ross is talking shite; Origi has been an extremely effective player coming off the bench. But like we're all noticing (and I'm sure Origi himself would agree), his game has been stagnating lately with the lack of consistent game time. At his age he needs to play every week; that's why it makes sense for him to leave and for us to cash in. And when he does, he deserves more respect for all the decisive goals he's scored.

Rosco used to say that managers didn’t matter. Haven’t heard that shite in a while though. That alone should tell you that he’s wrong about pretty much everything.

Didn't Rosco also say Messi was finished about 5 years ago? I might be completely imagining that, though.
