Looks like Rhys got very simple instructions. If you're gonna pass it forward, pass it to Trent. Not a single pass to one of the midfielders.
However Gomez turned into van Dijk role and was spraying passes left and right.

This is/was bizarre given how much it was highlighted that Jota & Mane cover the same areas of the pitch. Why didn't we just play Jota as the LW, his most natural position and work the rest of the team around that?!

I said when we first signed Jota that we'd play him instead of Mane, but tbh, it makes sense to play him on the right when Klopp thinks we can win the game anyway, cos Mane & Salah do often switch sides in game, so it's adding another string to his bow.
