Hahaha, that was in the back of my mind. Anytime I back United I always feel like the "silver-lining" of United fucking up supersedes any potential losses of a bet.

I'm knocking this challenge on the head because it's too boring...............I made about 3.5% profit in January but Christ it was slow going and betting should always be a bit of fun. I figured if United won it would give me a 2% head start for February but it wasn't to be.

I'm not betting on this one because Wednesday's manager hasn't a clue what his best team is at the moment and isn't including his most important midfielder IMO Kieran Lee.

He's got an embarrassment of attacking riches - Rhodes, Gary Hooper, Forestieri, Steven Fletcher, Niuhu and Winnall and having just added Rhodes to the squad I doubt he'll be sure which 2 to pick up front. Any of these would work; Rhodes would work very well with Forestieri and Hooper would work well with both as well but I'm not so sure about Hooper/Rhodes partnership. Rhodes or Hooper also would work well with Fletcher.

Basically he should not be starting with either Winnall (despite a decent season he's not particularly good at this level) or Niuhu.

8/5 isn't a bad price I suppose, in fact it's about what I'd price them at but it's not good value.

Wigan are better than the league position suggests and it will be interesting to see how Omar Bogle gets on at this level.

It could be tight as neither team is prolific................maybe 1-2 to Wednesday.

Just had an afterthought, Dan Burn Wigan's CB is (at 6'6'') very good aerially but susceptible to a bit of pace/skill so maybe Rhodes/Forestieri would be the best partnership for Wednesday.

We backed Sheff Wednesday in the end anyway @Pesam.

How about Norwich tonight to beat Wigan?

It's a bit similar to the Wigan v Wednesday game to be honest, by which i mean the away team SHOULD win but it's hard to tip them with much confidence. Wigan were a bit unlucky against Wednesday and Norwich's form is very hit-and-miss this season.

I'd have a lot more faith in Norwich if the manager ever grows a pair and picks his 2 most creative players to start together i.e. Hoolihan and Pritchard but he nearly always leaves one on the bench.

If he goes with a midfield/forward line like this....................

    .......................Howson.............Mulumbu (or Tettey)...................
    ........Hoolihan.............Pritchard............Wildshcut..........
    ..............................Jerome..................................

...then I'd fancy 'em quite a bit.

If Olivera (who i don't rate very highly) plays up front with Jerome then they could struggle as Wigan have a very solid/combative midfield and will limit Norwich's ability to get the ball to the front 2. I'll say a draw 1-1 as I think the Norwich manager will get his team selection wrong again. Good luck.
