Feel like it's worth a thread.

Remember Karius being laughed off at Tranmere last season? How far we've come.

    Name your...

    Flop of preseason
    Star of preseason
    Surprise of preseason

    I'm going for -

Flop - Brewster - not to shit on the lad but I think the expectation will be high and he won't be banging them in yet. Hope I'm wrong obv

Star - Harry Wilson turns out to be ready for the first team

Surprise - Mignolet actually looks good

    Pre season expectations?
I have no real expectations. I mean I want to see how Brewster, Sepp, Hoever and other young players do. Really want to see how Elliot does.
But I expect to see a strong performance from Ox.

@Wet WetDreambeliever How is a 17 year old going to be considered a flop in his first month at a new club in a foreign country ?

Are you really trying to use logic when reading a Dreamy post?

    Anyway:

Has James Pearce not left the echo yet ? Any ideas where he's off too ? Goal or somewhere with Melissa Reddy?

It's not a transfer window until Pearce shoots down a 'dream' signing !

He left the Echo last week. Said on a pod that his new role starts in August and he has been asked to keep it quiet til he starts

I've been told two separate things, one that he is joining The Atlantic, the other is that he is joining LFC. Could possibly both be true.

He’s joining the Firms new Liverpool office.
    Fantastic break for him.

He did say that his new role would require more discipline as he will be working from home ... so probably not LFC, then

I went to look at TheAtlantic.com, and there is no sport section - so if he's going there it will be to create and lead a new sport department maybe?

They do sports bits already but it's all super US-centric and in its current format wouldn't lend itself to Pearce someone who's made a career by having his finger on the pulse of the most successful football club in England

He also said he'd be covering the pre season lfc tour on the last show I listened to.

He's worked with the BBC before, but unsure whether they'd have a reporter specifically covering our pre season tour, seems unlikely.

I think it's The Athletic, not The Atlantic.
