I thought that foul by Xhaka, just before we scored, was a definite Yellow, he literally grabbed Keita by the collar and threw him to the ground. Linesman was flagging furiously and the only reason he got away with it was we scored.

City being favourites to win the League before a ball was kicked battered my head. We're streets ahead of them and everyone else. We'll piss it again.

On Saturday City were even money and us around 2-1. Now we are odds on.

Just so I can keep up Gary, does this mean that “we’re a fucking embarrassment” no longer?

Varying play. That's the key. Passing along the back four, nice and swiftly, fine, but if VVD sometimes ignores Gomez and just fizzes a pass straight across to Trent - that's when we're varying play. Or if Gomez moves forward with the ball instead of VVD hitting that left to right diagonal long ball, or one of them plays a quick ball down the line to Robertson or Gini or Mane - that's when we're varying play. And in most games that's what we do. But I'm not going to be told that how we played from the back in much of that first half was 'varying play'. If you play to our template, which is analysed to death by opposing teams these days, and you stick to it rigidly, and do it at a relatively steady and slow pace, then it IS predictable and it IS of open to exploitation by the opposition, who know how to block any movement further up the field to keep it going. It might tot up the pass and possession stats but in the real world it does fuck all. It's not a case of praising it blindly or damning it blindly, it's a case of wanting it to be done well.

Meant FSG, not Klopp/the team. Innit.

That ref always has a weird haunted look on his face, as if at any moment he expects a mother to appear with a policeman and start pointing at him, 'That's the man!!! That's him!!!!'

Cant stand that traitorous cunt Keane, but in fairness to him I thought he took the Klopp exchange in good spirit.

He did, yeah. Klopp seems like a difficult person to have a full-on argument with though. I think most people would take an exchange with him in good spirit.

Our range of attack vectors are disgusting and that's without Thiago.

I don't know whether we out pressed Arsenal or whether they employed cowardly defensive tactics, they hardly tried to come out their half it seemed like.

They were shit bags and just wanted to lump it and hope we’d have brainfarts like we did away last season.

For that to be your only hopeful tactic when you’ve got Luiz in your team then you’re on to a beating. Especially when we have a functioning front 3 unlike at the emirates.

I am very happy with the signings we have made (Finally) this window, while not spectacular in the sense of being an Messi or Mbappe, they are none the less quality signings which improves the team...

Now all we need is a CB.
    Rock an Roll :)

Actually I disagree. They came with a plan and had the tactics, but not the players, to try something a little different to just 10 men behind the ball.

Trying to play out from the back, thereby knowing we'd commit players to the press, and then playing the ball down the line to Auba/Laca to run against a depleted defence, 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 etc. In fact when they scored, despite it being a Robbo brain-fart, they had 5 on our 4 at that time. They tried this a number of times but Gomez cut it out nearly every time.

Contain us and then hope for those breaks was a clear plan. TBH as good as any coming to Anfield and up against this team.
