Liverpool v Chelsea Match Thread

It was a mistake by Klopp to not replace Lucas and if you've followed the Italian league Lucas has been a revelation for Lazio this season and has even done better than Biglia did in the same position last season. That's not my opinion, that's their fans and the media's opinion.
But yes Lucas would have done a whole lot better than Henderson has.

the Italian league is at one of it's worst spots in decades - that's also from fans and media ... Juve is worse than last year, Napoli has been great but if they don't beat
Shakhtar Donetsk, they're in the Europa League and Milan have been a big failure considering what they've spent.

It was rather obvious he'd fare far better in Italy (or even Spain or France) because it's a slower league where his lack of pace wouldn't be bypassed time after time.

I know you absolutely love Lucas (who's actually starting to struggle recently) & Rafa (who's team will struggle to stay afloat unless they invest far better than he did in the summer) - but let's keep them in threads about our past, not every single bloody thread on this forum. It's tiring and keeping more and more people from bothering (that's from our members) .... I don't even care about your Henderson (& soon Lallana) campaign ... At least that's current players and can be debated constructively if posters want to be fair about it.

We were linked with the player Lucas replaced.

Can you start your own thread about Biglia (and simao etc) and Lucas (and Rafa etc) instead of killing yet another thread? Surely this gets boring for you mate? No one gives a shit except Woland (he's a closet Lucas fan - I shit you not!)

Hendo was bollocks.

Our midfield from the end of this season is full of a whole different sort of uncertainty - Can gone , Keita in etc etc etc

id really like to see it addressed in Jan with a better deep lying player than Hendo , it could literally be a difference maker for a top 4 spot

It's got to be said, if we somehow bought the Keita deal forward six months and got VVD (or a CB of his supposed calibre) in January, it would probably guarantee us top four. At the moment I think three places are up for grabs between five teams.

Guys I don't want to be all neg and bring up bad memories but I only seen Willian's goal once. I think he meant it. Haven't seen a replay or match of the day or read this thread or anything. Everyone around me thought it was a cross.

Did he mean it? I thought it was a worldy.

I'm sure he'll say he did. The way he looked when he hit it, I thought he looked across the goal, like he was expecting someone to be getting on the end of it. Who knows.

I just thought the way he hit it. I mean I saw his foot stop and put that spin on it. Like a golf chip. I never saw a cross like that. Just a chip. But as I say I only saw it that one time.

Funnily enough the minute the brilliant little cunt came on me and my mate had a quick discussion and the outcome was double up on him, put Milner and Moreno on him, take some forward off and stick some midfielder on. Maybe a minute later he scored. I'm not saying it was tactical genius or anything but they came for a draw, and when they were getting beat they knew sticking a fresh right winger on would be the best option coz Moreno is shit. So we should have had an answer.

I'm not even really moaning. Just sayin

Klopp has this idiot tendency to try to make a point with his players. Put in a shit performance that's slated by just about everyone and you're guaranteed to play the next game, it's like he plays them so if they perform he's some how vindicated. Even though these players repeatedly produce piss poor displays.

Almost everyone (even Conte and Cahill from the way they answered), thought it was a fluke, not one person has gone on record as saying he meant it - I'd love to see what expression his face has/had when asked the question).

Moreno was good against Chelsea. He was just fucked by the 70th

Problem with the midfield players we have - not accounting for Coutinho or Lallana, but just looking at Can, Gini, Henderson, and Milner - is that they are neither defensively great or offensively great - they are just the type of players you have in your midfield to make up the numbers - better than average but not brilliant at anything else (although between them all - I think Milner has a better footballing brain). It is static in many ways and prone to sideways passing - they are not instinctive goal scorers or creators of a high degree. We know they cannot effectively provide any decent DM type cover either.

We need a bit of a blend of midfielders like the Alonso-SG-Macha type mix - where there is the dogged DM, the deep lying creative type, and the attacking explosive type. All our three are just slow at everything or fast and brainless like Can. Very difficult to solve this quickly.

Captain Sideways never goes to ground, or hits a pass that's forward bound.
Here he comes to save the day!
Another pass just went astray.
To the left or to the right, a forward pass gives him a fright.
Here he comes to save the day!
Captain Sideways here to stay.

State of that. And to think he threw a massive cry-arse hissy fit when I first ruined him for it. But here it is is. Still.

Buvac appaz lost it at Achterberg on Saturday. The 4th official asked the Liverpool bench 6 times if we wanted to do the Adam Lallana sub, but we didnt confirm.
Buvac was in an heated argument with Achterberg (who is responsible for the communication with the 4th official) before the Chelsea goal.
After the goal he appaz lost it again due to the fact that we didnt get the sub done and Achterberg didnt communicate this to the 4th official.

Nobody knows mind, if that sub had given us the 3 points in the end.

Achterberg? He shouldn‘t even be responsible for cleaning the toilets, the useless prick.

From where I was on the Kop, we could see Milner called over to the touchline where Lallana was waiting to come on and it looked like they were telling him he was being subbed and to go to the other end of the pitch so they could waste a bit more time when he walked off. The ball then didn't go out of play for an age before Chelsea equalised. That's not gospel but it was the impression we had at the time cos of the way they were gesticulating to Milner.

Which of our many Forum Bards came up with that?

It was a fluke. The slow motion clip before he kicked the ball on MOTD showed him twisting his body as per usual to put in a cross. He knows it too.

Even if it was a fluke, it was coming.
