Young Decent and English

Have to say if a decent England manager came along we suddenly seem to have some decent talent out there folks.

Add into the squad Adam Johnson, Milner, Bent, Gibbs, Downing, Walker, Defoe, Huddlestone plus some of the experienced heads like Parker, Rio, Ashely Cole

should be good enough for some boss with half a brain

yes, i think we've got a reasonably decent set of young prospects. in some ways it'll be a relief to clear out the last of the 'golden generation' just so we can start being more realistic and less anxious about failing when it matters.

mceachran at chelsea's supposed to be excellent, and there's a few others like chamberlain around who might go on to become real international quality.

That's clearly not going to happen, is it?

Still, it will be nice to see the back of players like Lampard, Terry et al.

well, you're right, expectations will always be raised - i just think they may be dampened a little when the likes of lampard, terry, ferdinand, cole and gerrard inevitably start to retire over the next 2-3 years.
