Once the ball spilled to Torres it was in the back of the net.

The man is going to be the biggest legend in the history of the club if he stays for his entire career.

Fastest to 50 and made one cold wet Irish man incredible happy in Dublin in a pub full of Villa fans.

Best moment of the season so far for me.

It's so great to have a two players that you know will score if given a good chance at any stage in 90 mins.

Are there that many Villa fans in Dublin ? Why ?

It was a brilliant goal, in some ways like a mirror image of his first. He had only a very very small gap to thread it through and it went unerringly straight into that gap. Absolutely magic.

DB, you know that is bullshit.

All the Irish Villa fans together wouldn't fill the smallest pub in Dublin 😉

A bigger legend than the likes of Paisley, Rush, Shankly and Dalglish?

He could play until he's 40 and not get near that lot

Ha ha I couldn't believe it. Went in to a small pokey pub to watch the game and they were Villa fans(Or maybe Utd)

Granted there were only about 15 of them but still.

God I let lose when Torres scored. Was delightful.

Villa fans pop up everywhere. I know about 6 off the top of my head. Perhaps it goes back to when Paul Mcgrath played for them.

Well I meant playing and obviously his latest gem may have tinted my glasses slightly but if he was to stay with us for another 6/7 seasons and continue on this form he would be up there with them surely.

Nope, not unless we get a manager who can win us the title.

Great players win titles and trophies

Legends win lots of them, which is one reason I feel very sorry for one Steven Gerrard Esq. He deserves a title. At least one.

Torres is 25 and has won fuck all so far at club level, which is all I give a fuck about

Brendan has a point - and hopefully he adds a few leagues and cups to his name by the time his career is finished here.

IF, and it's a HUGE if, he stays healthy - he will be up there.

It might help if we let him have the surgery he needs.

Roger Hunt's rarely mentioned up there, yet there's no chance Torres will top his total.

yeah but imo it's clear that torres is a much more talented player than hunt was.

brendan has a point about the trophies, but in terms of his ability he's up there with the best, plus, also imo, he's got that vital 'lovableness' that fowler had and owen and (to a large extent) gerrard don't.

i think he's bodacious.

Gerrard is, and will always be one of the greatest players we have ever had, and there is no chance of Torres being remembered more favourably than our captain: a scouser, one club man and life-long red

i think there's a chance. if he stays for years, shows unwavering loyalty and otherwise remains as loveable as ever, scores at his hitherto rate and with the same wonderful quality, helps us to win many trophies, including the 19th title, then i think there's a good chance of him being remembered more favourably than gerrard, and, what is more, he'll be a man, my son.
