Is it a possibility that he will come back to play for us? From what I've seen so far he doesn't seem like a Mourinho type player and I think it's possible that Mourinho will try to change his role by playing him further up to accommodate a player like Makelele or if not- sell him. He was absolutely useless against Barcelona last night and while it may be unfair to judge how he plays on a game at Nou Camp I still find that he's not a player for Mourinho's tactics. I would absolutely love to have him back at Anfield and I know most of you, if not all, would too. But is it possible?

I don't see why Alonso isn't a Mourinho player. He is fairly key to that Madrid team and they play with him and Khedira, who isn't a Makalele type player, in midfield.

I can't see Real selling him and I can't see us getting him back again.

Alonso surely is a perfect fit for Mourinho.

He works hard, knows his role in the side and just like when he was with us has the ability to control a game allowing others to benefit.

Yeah he had a torrid time last night but he was up against two guys who when in the mood will do that to anyone

No. He'd cost a fortune, his wages would be huge and he's 29 now.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of our new transfer policy I'd be surprised if Alonso fits into it.

it seems like players get old before you know it these days. thinking about it its probably because players need to be at least 24 before a modern manager will trust them to play for the first team
