Australia vs. Spain. Netherlands vs. Chile. Cameroon vs. Brazil. Croatia vs. Mexico.
Thought on today's games? Is Australia a chance to beat the Spanish? I doubt it. Think they'll knock about four past us.
Netherlands/Chile should be an open and exciting game.
Brazil will smash Cameroon.
Croatia vs. Mexico will be a great clash. Tipping a Croatia win.

Are you an Aussie James? Whereabouts are you?

Chi: Bravo (c), Mena, Isla, Silva, Sanchez, Vargas, Gutierrez, Medel, Jara, Aranguiz, Diaz

Ned: Cillessen, Vlaar. De Vrij, Blind, De Jong, Janmaat, Sneijder, Robben (c), Kuyt, Lens, Wijnaldum

Holland supposed to still be 5-3-2 with Blind in the back 3 and Dirk at LWB. The team looks more like a 4-3-3 to me. We find out soon enough.

Yep, from Melbourne, Australia, mate, with my old man born and raised in Liverpool.

Ah right. My wife is an Aussie (Sydney) and I lived there for 3-4 years. I'll be rooted for an Aussie win for sure. You guys were damn unlucky but did yourselves proud I reckon. 🙂

ok he's been given a fair amount of space but still villa has looked very sharp and direct . wonder why he didn't start their first two games. nice finish but how he got some much space in the 6 yard box i don't know.

Class finish by Villa.

Chile /NL just seem determined to throw away every opportunity they have, should be about 2-2 !

*Robben is such a greedy cunt though*

I can't say I'm as wowed by this world cup as some reports seem to suggest I should be. I've found a few of them to be pretty boring, and this is another one that's a bit tiresome.

I think this is the first year I've actually hated the Dutch (I'm sure it's van Gaal that's pushed me over the top), but fuck me I want to see them get trounced.

Hard to find that. Too expensive to fill a bath. Hard to find a bath as well.

Everything in the supermarket seems to be orange though.

In other news...

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has joined the England team on the World Cup casualty list by having his tournament accreditation taken away.

FIFA took action against Martinez, who is working as a pundit for American channel ESPN, after he allowed his accreditation to be used by someone else who wanted to watch Holland train.

The FIFA pass is strictly non-transferable with the terms and conditions that the Spaniard would have signed before receiving the accreditation informing him it could be withdrawn for regulation breaches.

The transgression took place last week and is understood to have been spotted by security at Holland’s Rio practice facility at the Flamengo Sports Club.

There would be extra sensitivity about the real Martinez being at Dutch training in any case with Holland manager Louis van Gaal becoming a Premier League rival next season as the new manager of Manchester United.

And it’s understood Martinez had received an invitation to visit the Dutch camp from fellow ESPN TV analyst Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is about to join the Holland coaching team.

Neither FIFA nor ESPN made any comment about Martinez, who can only be used as a studio analyst on their Copacabana set as he cannot gain entry to stadiums or training grounds.

Chile seem to have a disconnect between their MF and defence that will really cost them at some time in this tournament. Their MF often dallies and gets caught out or passes to the opposition and I can see someone taking advantage of that in a way NL didn't today.

Jury's still out on Sanchez for me. Superb with the ball at his feet but awful threading passes through (3 terrible through balls today) and I've yet to be convinced by his shooting (fired one 10m over today).

The lack of height in the Chilean team was always going to cost them sooner of later, especially against a NL team 4-6 ins taller per man on average ! No surprise that's how they broke the deadlock.

I thought I had at last got my first 4 - pointer in the Prediction League ! Spain's 3-0 over Aus. being the golden scoreline, until I checked and realised I had pegged that one back to 2-0 because of the Aussies fine performances to date. Bugger. David Villa was pure class in that match.

Cameroon are good and yet poo at the same time.

Brazil are very overhyped. Can't understand how players like Moura and Coutinho are being left out in favour of some of the donkeys they've got now.
