Obviously there'll be a thread for the England vs. Italy game but there's still some very interesting games to be played.
Colombia vs. Greece, Uruguay vs. Costa Rica, Ivory Coast vs. Japan and of course, England vs. Italy.
Don't know about everything else but I've been really enjoying this World Cup. Only two days in and it's already a million times better than 2010. Maybe helped by no fucking buzzing sounds coming through the TV.
Who's your tip to win today? I'm placing a bet on there to be four or more goals in the Uruguay/Costa Rica game.

Yup four games in and they've all been intriguing, bewildering and controversial. Lots of goals helps too. Just a word of warning about your bet, that Costa Rica `keeper has been one of the best in La Liga this season, but who knows what tripe`s in front of him.

Sven thinks his squad was better. I'm inclined to this he is marginally right. the 2006 squad had a better defence and a Gerrard at the peak of his powers.
Eriksson's England (2006)Hodgson's England (2014)

Goalkeepers: Paul Robinson, David James, Robert Green
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster, Ben Foster, Joe Hart

Defenders: Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Sol Campbell, Jamie Carragher, Wayne Bridge
Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling

Midfielders: David Beckham, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Owen Hargreaves, Jermaine Jenas, Stewart Downing, Joe Cole, Aaron Lennon
Midfielders: Ross Barkley, Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Jack Wilshere

Forwards: Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Peter Crouch, Theo Walcott
Forwards: Rickie Lambert, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck

Yeah, defence is a million times better but I'd rather have the team now. Having Gerrard at his peak is neither here nor there because he was never used appropriately.

sure, but if you played the two teams against each other with players in there proper positions, a 2006 Gerrard would make the difference.

The BBC with a more traditional & less intrusive scoreline in the corner.

Take note itv, you bunch of blustering fuckwads.

I don't think Greece have been *that* bad tbh.

Poor in front of goal which has cost them. Yet another couple of sides that can't cope with players running at them too, if Rodgers had the balls to play sterling, sturridge & drop Rooney for lallana or Barkeley I think we could worry a fair few teams.

Where's the world cup prediction league gone? Or can you not access it during a match? I can't remember what my prediction was.

The keeper done well there reacting to the ball looping off the defender's leg.
