Who's been the worst/most disappointing?

Green
(ENG)

Gutierrez - Terry - Gallas - Criscito
(ARG) (ENG) (FRA) (ITA)

Barry - Lampard
(ENG) (ENG)

Ribery - Ronaldo - Kaka
(FRA) (POR) (BRA)

Rooney
(ENG)

Thank God Rooney was shit, or I might have had to put Fernando in there...

Gutirrez is a left-winger playing right-back.

Any criticism there has to go towards Maradonna.

Surely there needs to be more French and Italian players...

Considering he's meant to be one of the world's best players, Kaka's been poor. Same applies to Gerrard really, apart from that opening goal.

Capello or Lippi for manager

Oh come on, it has to be Domenech!

Nah everyone knows hes a clown

There's no way Terry should be in there.

And realisticly Torres would walk into the striker's spot.

Rooney (domestically) plays in a fast attacking team that creates boat loads of chances for him - unlike Torres who has to make his own.

Torres would have been expected to perform much better than given the overall quality of the Spanish team.

OP take Kaka out.

Gerrard had two good games out of four.

There are more big names out there who just did not turn up.

Actually after the dust has settles, i hope they analyze and conclude that it is England's defense that let them down big time in spite of Rooney playing like a Zombie. They need to have a proper re-think on Central Defense and Central Midfield.

England's defense was error prone from game 1.
Slowest and least mobile defense and central midfield in the tournament.
England's defenders were simply incapable of creating a play.
and lastly they were just not well organized.....

Against Germany, they did score 2 goals. That's about par far the course at this level as far as attack is concerned. When you also consider that Germany sat back and countered when England was committed forward, you actually start to think their forward play was not as bad as it is being made out.

But the defense was in such a state, England never had a chance. John Terry, Carra, Upson, Barry etc can not cut it at that level. If Rio was around things would have been a bit different. I have no idea how Upson was ahead of Dawson in the pecking order.

Didn't Torres just have an op and was injured most of the season? That would definately affect his form. However, Rooney only has an ankle injury. He has NO excuse! I'm pretty chuffed that the ugly cunt had a poor WC. Just maybe the scum fans would shut the fuck up about him!

We would bang on about Rooney if we had him, too.

Because he's absolute fucking quality.

Him and Torres would be a dream partnership.

Except in the World Cup, seemingly.

True, but Torres has never flourished for Spain as he should and Rooney hasn't either for a good while, plus they've both recently had operations.

In hindsight their lack of performance at the World Cup could have been predicted.

I'll be surprised if Torres starts the next match, TBH.

Kaka is very harsh.

I would definately have Barry, Green, Rooney and Torres in the team though.

Torres could change it all on Sunday 😉

It's rather rare that both Villa and Torres play well at the same time though.

I am not sure how well they play together actually and overall their pairing doesn't seem to add up to the sum of their individual talents.
Wasn't it only when Villa was out during Euro 2008 that Fernando really shone?

Villa shines a lot more when Torres is in the team though. When the two play together, Torres gets in the box a lot more and creates the space for Villa. He's effectively the Heskey of Spain. Except he can score too.

Can't really put Torres in there, as he is probably going to be starting in the final.
[/quote]

He's been dreadful, so he should be in there

He's had two opps. and made space for villas goals

Torres has been shit.

The only question that is up for debate is 'why?'
