Skysports.com understands Wolfsburg have made a bid for Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic. The German side are keen on signing the Serbian international as they look to fill the void created by Edin Dzeko's departure to Manchester City.

Jovanovic's future at Liverpool has been the subject of speculation throughout the transfer window with the player failing to establish himself at Anfield since his summer arrival from Standard Liege. The 29-year-old has started just five Premier League matches this season and it has been suggested Liverpool could be prepared to offload the player.
Wolfsburg boss Steve McClaren is thought to be an admirer of Jovanovic and he has now firmed up his interest in the player by tabling a bid.

Despite being linked with a move away from Liverpool, Jovanovic hopes the appointment of Kenny Dalglish will give him the chance to kick-start his Reds career.

"I am sure the new manager coming in has given everyone a lift, those who are playing and those who aren't," he told LFC Weekly. "I think the second half of the season can be much better.

"When I first came here I expected things to be better. It hasn't been good enough so far but I am strong and I keep working hard. I don't ever think to myself: 'I deserve to play or I don't deserve to play'. I just keep going and working hard. Sometimes a chance can come when you least expect it. That is life so you have to be ready."

Whatever you think of him as a player, that's a handsome response to the situation. I hope things work out for him one way or the other.

Agreed, and agreed.

Nice response, but i'd have said "yes" packed his kit and bought him the plane ticket before red face had even had the chance to say "Yesh, we are as you shay, interessshted"

I'd sell, no matter how low the offer. Jovanovic is fucking useless.

Indeed, especially considering the ridiculous wage he's on.

Yeh it's a fortune in pies, that

Yes please.

Clearing out the useless group of players in itself is progress.

Babel was more useful than Jova, Konchesky, Poulsen etc.

But if we clear out Poulsen and Konchesky in the summer (which we probably will as they are not really on big wages), and bring in quality players, we will be ready for the new season.

No panic!

Although, a good signing or two would indeed help.

I'm not sure. He really wanted to come to us and he's still talking like he'd prefer to stay and fight for his place.

Sell sell sell!

Let the clearout begin!

X2. Sell whatever they are offering.

Away with the deadwood.

Does it ever strike you that some of these reports are fabricated only to piss of Liverpool fans.
The journos know that LFC fans wants to get rid of Jovanovic and Konchesky. So they make up a story to get our hopes high only to be told that it's false a couple of weeks later.

He's turned the move down. Someone should get fired at the Guardian for not breaking this UNBELIEVABLE NEWS!!

He's not playing, but still wants to stay. Fuck! Massive wages and poor. Not a good combination.

It's the Liverpool Combination.

Have we signed a freebie who's worth the salary? Ever?
I thought j.Cole would be one but that hasn't happened. Yet.

I read on *cough* twitter that there was no bid from Wolfsburg.
But you could have read elsewhere on Titter that they have bid so what ya gonna do?

Rory Smith said it, from The Telegraph, and everything.

Yeah, I went to the mattresses with a broadsheet !

He refused to go, his agent says he wants to 'stay and fight for his place'. Kenny needs to tell him he has no future here

I'm sure he has, although the future Jova is thinking about might be the 65000 a week as opposed to playing actual football.

Liverpool have rejected a £6m bid from VfL Wolfsburg for Milan Jovanovic , according to German sources.

The 29-year-old Serbian international joined Liverpool from Standard de Liège in the summer but has failed to settle in at the Anfield outfit.

The forward/midfielder has mostly been used as a substitute and in the Europa League.

But according to reports in England it was the player himself who turned down the move, opting to fight for his place under Kenny Dalglish.

Jovanovic is contracted to Liverpool until 2013 and is valued at €5M-7.5M.

Regardless of which one is true, can't believe either decision. :-X

he is not as bad as people think...

whoever decided to stick him on that wage is a complete tool though. No back up player should be anywhere near 50k

Did Wolfsburg really bid 6M or not? It kinda sounds too good to be true.
Take their arm off with that bid!

£6m!? Give him one and tell him to fuck off.

Although...it´s nice to see some heart (or is it just the 50k)?. Feeling a bit cynical.
