at this rate were arsed about going out of evrything by xmas

Is it the stiff drinks or is the above not a sentence?

If we are in philosophical mode, you could say that plenty of top clubs sometimes trip up in the group stage.

The big challenge is now to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League this season so that we can continue to participate in this glorified FA Cup next season. The way things are looking at the moment, this seems rather ambitious.

It's only a glorified FA Cup anyway.

Money money money my man.

I don't care about your money!

I love the champions league, they are some of my fondest memories...I don't really understand the anti champions league feelings amongst some Liverpool fans.

i stand corrected cheers

Maybe because it's the top competition in europe and we'd like to think we're good enough to be in it and atleast make it through to the knock-out stages. Stupid question really Sheik.

Think it's down to the fact we're not doing to well in it :'( AND because it seems that Rafa isn't able to fight for both the Cl & EPL so chooses the CL over the EPL.

Because we are fickle, that's why. One moment we want the PL and that looks dodgy at the moment. Now we are in rage, rebellious and cocking our glocks to fire blanks. I suppose the magnet for our anger is all targeted at Rafa dreaming and believing that someone else might take us back to glory.

hmmmm....

Or maybe it's because we shouldn't be taking only one point off f#$!ing Lyon, especially in the manner we've achieved it. Regardless of the competition, Liverpool FC must do better than we've shown in 16 competitive games so far this season.

Think that bloody team will go deep in the knock-out stages? Will they bollocks. Chelsea / Scum / Barca / Real, etc... will piss on them.

True, it was deflating to concede so late and so easily. That adds to the 'arsed' feeling.
Pre-season was an indication of how poor we were. Hind sight. Hind sight. Ominous signs. Sigh...

It's pathetic how fans of other clubs are having a right wank over failings in Europe and the league this season.

FFS, I got some dickhead Boro and Wigan fans trying to give me shit about it.

And their digs aren't even funny, it's things like:

1. We hope Torres breaks his leg
2. Stevie G MBE ... where MBE stands for, Muppet with Bad English :🙂
3. Cesspool FC

Hrm, why am I arsed?

1)I like watching us knock shit out of top European clubs.
2)Rafa said that his January budget is determined in part by qualification.
3)I'm not so in love with us not winning very much.
4)And erm, it beats the shit out of working midweek.

Silver lining: At least we won't have another fucking game against Chelsea. Sick of them.

You've got gimpy mates.
Never said they were my mates...

The CL has turned into nothing more than another cup competition for the 4 English teams and Barca.

I don't remember anyone on here calling it a 'glorified FA Cup' after Istanbul. Seem to remember phrases like 'World's Premier club competition' etc.
Maybe that's why people are bothered. Just a guess.
Is that the same Barca who took 1 point of Unica Rubin (or whatever the fuck theyre called) and now have to avoid defeat to Inter to qualify?
Or Real who still need 2 wins?

Im not arsed. It was a good performance and lord knows we needed one. I much prefer the league as a competition and barring a miracle all questions of priority will now go out the window and we can get down to it.
Agger - fit
Aquilani - fit
Torres - fit
Skrtel - almost fit
Johnson - almost fit
N'gog - fit
Gerrard - unknown.
Its getting to the point where we have nearly a whole squad fit. And we have 2 trophies left to go for. So lets get out there monday and stamp our authority.

In a kind of 'now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battle station' way.

wow, it is a sight to behold when our Herr and our Sheik joins force!

It is almost as positive as a good Hershey Shakes! 😉

I havnt made a negative post in years.
We've been unlucky and blighted this year, doesnt make us a shit team or Rafa a shit manager.
Quarter-ish of a season gone. Plenty to go.

Every Liverpool fan would prefer to win the title than the Euroopean Cup, but it's still the best cup competition in the world.

We're not going to win either, so it's not really worth further discussion

Oncy, Torres is not fit.

I mean, he is well fit but not fit fit.
Yer bums a plum.

The thing that annoys me is that i'm pretty sure United didn't receive the kind of intense media that Rafa and Liverpool have received when they failed to qualify from the group stage a couple of years back, they even failed to go through to the uefa cup. I guess it's probably due to the fact that we're on one of our worst league runs for half a century, whilst having a poor CL campaign.
