Which country will the US invade next?

Apparently co-Presidents Trump and Musk are obsessed with expanding America’s reach and territory - so much for “America first” isolationism! So who will our boy geniuses actually dare to invade, if anyone?

- Canada
- Panama
- Mexico
- Greenland
- Iran
- UK (payback for Revolutionary war!)
- Someone else not yet on the list

Or is it all just a bunch of hot air designed to take the attention away from corruption?

Canada needs proper leadership to undo the horrible work done by Trudeau, especially economically.

Maybe they can become the 51st state temporarily without a war?

Irans definitely going, won't be long.

Probably Panama after that, or at least control of the canal

They'll create a false flag attack to galvanise the nation then invade the country "behind" the attack. Anyone know of any Panamanian terrorist groups??

I don't even know where to post this, It covers so much. Could easily post in the Middle East Thread on the Netanyahu Deep Dark SOB comment and the influence on American politics.

Read a few pieces on the challenge of Europe, Either stand up to Trump/US over the next few years or find yourselves being their lapdog.
Would be nice to have a bright future to look towards.
Can't even enjoy LFC record breaking start without the threat of top players leaving and everything collapsing.

Trump said he would buy Greenland for $1trn.... Now that works out to be nearly $17m for each citizen. Its worth thinking about if it is pitched that way.
Canada, he said he would crash their economy if they didn't join the United States

"Crush" their economy?
Trudeau already beat him to the punch...
I'd say trumps idiocy may be the only thing that gives the liberals a chance to win the upcoming election.

Maybe he should finish the wall to Mexico first.

The 'liberals' need to do a lot of work before they have a chance of winning.

They need a new direction, less emphasis on identity politics and more on getting stuff done.

Granted, Trump may well be a disaster but we shouldn't rule out someone more retarded than him taking office cos people will think he wasn't retarded enough.

Dems in fighting and soul searching needs to get over quick and build.

I think history will regard Trudeau a lot more favorably than current public opinion.

Anyways, how about we take California.

I don't see it ... ignoring the covid years (because it's not fair to any leader) economically speaking, he'll be looked at as reckless at best (economically speaking) and putting Canada in a hole they'll take how long to get out of? Ignoring other controversies around him, I just don't see a leader resigning after almost a decade in power if he hasn't lost the support of his own electorate (let alone the country), and that is a testament to what ?

As for Cali... I mean you want your country to improve no? 🙂
Th t state has even more serious issues (not even talking about the tragedies happening now) than Canada!

🤣 🤣🤣 You want some of what's happening South of the border?!

Leadership issues there too - for sure.
Time will tell how bad it gets there too, but thankfully, they won't have 9 years of it regardless*

*assuming there isn't an upcoming dictatorship 🙂

Most of the western world is struggling economically and the problem isn't Trudeau everywhere.

His legacy will include national dental care, national day care, the underpinnings of national pharmacare, and the best work (although still flawed) in terms of reconciliation with indigenous peoples.

He's shot himself in the foot plenty of times with some really avoidable scandals and has probably taken national debt further than necessary. But I'm going to lay most of the problems in our country right now at the feet of the neoliberal premiers across most provinces who actually have jurisdiction under our constitution in the areas that are struggling, such as healthcare.

It would be different perhaps if I didn't see Americans complaining about the price of eggs, running from climate-influenced natural disasters and executing CEOs while failing to act on daily school shootings and electing a convicted criminal supported by the world's richest far right wanker.

We'd be doing California a humanitarian service but letting them join confederation.

I may be off on the #s but if I remember correctly, Trudeau inherited a strong economy in 2015.
In 2018, overspent by ~$10 billion even though you had strong economic growth.
Deficit was what, ~$40 billion in 2019 for no reason.
It's tough to blame the current deficit on decisions entirely (COVID), but he just seems to make mistakes as you allude to.

I also think - based on what friends have told me from Toronto & Montreal, he hasn't done much on the housing crisis.

Though I think your counter points are good ones 🙂 I do believe there's been too much noise about corruption (WE Charity etc), illiberal policies etc ...

Regardless, I hope you guys get a better leader than the US got (or was putting forward), though I'm not optimistic as most leaders nowadays seem kak.

Good luck with the Cali idea 🙂 I guess if they got Alaska, it's only fair!?

Trudeau inherited a relatively good financial standing on the back of more than a decade of severe neoliberal cuts that provided the foundation for the problems we have now.

Housing crisis and housing prices in Canada have continued to get worse and that's fair. That started under Harper but has progressed. But it's also fair to say the entire Canadian housing market is a Ponzi scheme that no one actually wants to see a correction on.

We decided to say fuck it, get out of the rat race and sell our house. The assets are overvalued and either will eventually crash or everyone will just get priced into personal economic hell, as they already are.

I think Trudeau overstayed his welcome and the Liberals will deservedly get trashed in the election. But Polievre is like if Milhouse looked up to Trump and the Conservatives are an unserious joke. Don't get me started on the NDP, either

Is there any difference between what Trump & Musk are talking about with Greenland to what Putin is doing with Ukraine (pre invasion)?
